TV UNAM
TV UNAM (stylized as ''tvunam'' and ''tv•unam'', formerly written ''teveunam'') is an educational television network owned and operated by the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) in Mexico City. Programming on TV UNAM generally consists of educational telecourse programs for UNAM students, plus public affairs, documentary and cultural programming. Some TV UNAM programming can also be seen on the nationwide Edusat service. History The UNAM began broadcasts on XHUNAM-TV analog channel 60 on December 5, 2000, in Mexico City in order to pave the way for their own television network. It broadcast for five years before being renewed in 2005 as a digital-only station, the first in Mexico. XHSPR-TDT is a television station in Mexico City, the flagship station for the Sistema Público de Radiodifusión del Estado Mexicano (SPR) transmitter system. It broadcasts on channel 30 from a transmitter atop Cerro del Chiquihuite; its primary signal is the SPR's Canal Catorce network. XHSPR received its permit as XHOPMA-TDT, after the original name of the SPR (Organismo Promotor de Medios Audiovisuales) and signed on in 2012. Its transmitter is located on Cerro del Chiquihuite, which is home to the majority of Mexico City's broadcast stations.
