Vineet McCarty
Rear Admiral Vineet McCarty is a serving Flag officer in the Indian Navy. He currently serves as the Flag Officer Commanding Western Fleet. He earlier served as India's Defence adviser at the Republic of Singapore with concurrent accreditation to the Philippines. Naval career McCarty was commissioned into the Indian Navy on 1 July 1989. He is a specialist in gunnery. He was a part of the commissioning crew of the lead ship of her class of guided missile destroyers . He later served as the gunnery officer of the ship. McCarty has served as the executive officer of a seaward defence patrol vessel and a guided missile vessel. In his staff appointments, McCarty has served as the Command Plans officer at Headquarters Eastern Naval Command and as the Commodore (Naval Plans) at naval headquarters. Rear Admiral (India)
Rear admiral is a two-star flag officer rank in the Indian Navy. It is the third-highest active rank in the Indian Navy. Rear admiral ranks above the one-star rank of commodore and below the three-star rank of vice admiral. The equivalent rank in the Indian Army is major general and in the Indian Air Force is air vice marshal. National Defence College (India)
The National Defence College, located in New Delhi, is the defence service training institute and highest seat of strategic learning for officers of the Defence Service and the Civil Services. Wellington Cantonment
Wellington is a cantonment town in the Coonoor sub-Division of Nilgiris District of Tamil Nadu. One of its most famous residents was Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw, who died in the town on June 27, 2008. This town is adjacent to the city of Coonoor. Its Postal Index Number is 643231. The Defence Services Staff College (DSSC) is a defence service training institution of the Ministry of Defence, Government of India. Captain (Indian Navy)
Captain is a rank in the Indian Navy. Captain ranks above the rank of Commander and lower than a Commodore. It is equivalent to colonel in the Indian Army and group captain in the Indian Air Force. Terminology An officer in command of any warship is informally referred to as "the captain" on board, even if holding a junior rank. The formal title is ''Commanding officer'' (CO). Destroyers and frigates afloat were grouped into squadrons, which was commanded by the Captain (D) and Captain (F) respectively. A stealth ship is a ship that employs stealth technology construction techniques in an effort to make it harder to detect by one or more of radar, visual, sonar, and infrared methods. Corvette
A corvette is a small warship. It is traditionally the smallest class of vessel considered to be a proper (or " rated") warship. The warship class above the corvette is that of the frigate, while the class below was historically that of the sloop-of-war.
