Viktor Pelevin
Victor Olegovich Pelevin ( rus, Виктор Олегович Пелевин, p=ˈvʲiktər ɐˈlʲeɡəvʲɪtɕ pʲɪˈlʲevʲɪn; born 22 November 1962) is a Russian fiction writer. His novels include ''Omon Ra'' (1992), ''The Life of Insects'' (1993), ''Chapayev and Void'' (1996), and ''Generation P'' (1999). He is a laureate of multiple literary awards including the Russian Little Booker Prize (1993) and the National Bestseller Literary Prize, Russian National Bestseller (2004), the former for the short story collection ''Blue Lantern (short story collection), The Blue Lantern'' (1991). In 2011 he was nominated for the Nobel prize in Literature. His books are multi-layered Postmodern literature, postmodernist (disputed) texts fusing elements of Popular culture, pop culture and Western esotericism, esoteric philosophies while carrying conventions of the science fiction genre. In 1994 it was published in English named ''Blue Lantern and Other Stories'' by New Directions Publishing. Named after the story ''"Blue Lantern"'' which was included in the collection. Plot For Victor Pelevin's short prose the main cycle-forming principle is the subjective Mysticism, mystical-philosophical orientation common to all the stories. Carlos César Salvador Arana (December 25, 1925 – April 27, 1998), better known as Carlos Castaneda, was an American anthropologist and writer. Starting in 1968, Castaneda published a series of books that describe a training in shamanism that he received under the tutelage of a Yaqui "Man of Knowledge" named don Juan Matus. While Castaneda's work was accepted as factual by many when the books were first published, the training he described is now generally considered to be fictional. The Maxim Gorky Literature Institute () is an institution of higher education in Moscow, Russia. It is located at 25 Tverskoy Boulevard in central Moscow. History The institute was founded in 1933 on the initiative of Maxim Gorky, a writer, founder of the socialist realism literary method, and a political activist. It received its current name at Gorky's death in 1936. Tverskoy Boulevard () is one of the main thoroughfares in central Moscow. It is a part of the Boulevard Ring and begins at the end of the Nikitsky Boulevard, at the crossing with Bolshaya Nikitskaya Street. The boulevard ends at the Pushkin Square and Tverskaya Street, one of the busiest places in Moscow. East of Tverskaya Street becomes Strastnoy Boulevard. First Tverskoy Boulevard was the first boulevard in the historical neighbourhood of Bely Gorod, "White Town" in Russian.
