Central Finland
Central Finland ( fi, Keski-Suomi; sv, Mellersta Finland) is a region ( / ) in Finland. It borders the regions of Päijät-Häme, Pirkanmaa, South Ostrobothnia, Central Ostrobothnia, North Ostrobothnia, North Savo, and South Savo. Storuman Municipality
Storuman Municipality (; sma, Luspie tjïelte; sju, Lusspie kommuvnna) is a municipality in Västerbotten County in northern Sweden. Its seat is located in Storuman. The parish Stensele was created as late as 1822. It was, together with the parish Tärna, made into a municipality in 1863. In 1903 Tärna was detached to form a municipality of its own. The local government reform of 1971 saw the reunification of Stensele and Tärnaby municipalities, thus forming Storuman Municipality with the name taken from its largest town. The following is a list of cities in Finland. In the year 1977, the legal difference between towns and municipalities was removed. Today they are all classified as municipalities, some of which are commonly referred to as cities ''(kaupunki'' in Finnish, ''stad'' in Swedish). A municipality can decide whether it calls itself a municipality or a city. but ''suurkaupunki'' (~ large town) is used for a few cities in Finland. This fits the EU's definition of a city, which has the criteria of a minimum population of 50,000 and a minimum population density of 500 inhabitants per square kilometer.
