Vichitra Jeevitham
''Vichitra Jeevitham'' () is a 1978 Indian Telugu-language drama film directed by V. Madhusudhana Rao. The film stars Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Vanisri and Jayasudha, with music composed by Chakravarthy. It is a remake of the Hindi film '' Daag'' (1973), which itself is based on Thomas Hardy's 1886 novel '' The Mayor of Casterbridge''. The film was released on 14 April 1978. Plot Chandra Shekar "Chandram" loves and marries Gowri. Soon, Chandram gets a job in an estate owned by Surendra Nath a decadent person who behaves like a gentleman and provides good hospitality. Later, once Gowri is alone, tries to molest her but Chandram arrives in time, and the quarrel ensues into the death of Surendra Nath. Chandram is sentenced to death but, on the way to prison, the police van meets with an accident and all occupants are dead. By that time, Gowri is pregnant and gives birth to a baby boy. Gulshan Nanda
Gulshan Nanda (1929 – 16 November 1985) was an Indian novelist and screenwriter. Many of his novels were adapted into Hindi films in the 1960s and 1970s, including more than a dozen big hits of the period — '' Kaajal'' (1965), ''Kati Patang'' (1970), '' Khilona'' (1970), ''Sharmeelee'' (1971) and '' Daag'' (1973). Dhulipala Sitarama Sastry (24 September 1921 – 13 April 2007), known mononymously by the surname Dhulipala, was an Indian actor and thespian, known for his works predominantly in Telugu cinema. He was noted for playing mythological roles, particularly the role of Shakuni. He began his acting career at the young age of 13 and went on to work in about 300 films. Pillavalu Gajapathy Krishnaveni (3 November 1935 – 16 August 2004), more famously known as Jikki, was an Indian playback singer from Andhra Pradesh. She sang around 10,000 songs in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Hindi, and Sinhalese languages. Early life Jikki was born in Chennai on 3 November 1935. Her parents Gajapathi Naidu and Rajakanthamma, a Telugu family, had moved from Chandragiri, near Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh to Chennai for their livelihood. Her uncle, Devaraju Naidu, worked as a music composer with the celebrated Kannada theatre legend and movie pioneer Gubbi Veeranna and this introduced the young Jikki to the music and film world. Veturi Sundararama Murthy (29 January 1936 – 22 May 2010), known mononymously by his surname Veturi, was an Indian poet, lyricist and journalist who is popular for writing Telugu songs. His career in the Telugu cinema spanned more than four decades. He was highly admired and cherished for his deep and thoughtful lyrics in Telugu songs. Early life Veturi was born to Chandrasekhar Sastry and Kamalamba in Pedakallepalli, near Challapalli, Krishna into a Telugu Brahmin family. Veturi was a nephew of the Telugu Research Scholar Veturi Prabhakara Sastri. His grandfather Veturi Sundara Sastry was also a poet.
