Vexi Salmi
Veikko Olavi "Vexi" Salmi (; 21 September 1942 – 8 September 2020) was a Finnish lyricist. He wrote the lyrics to numerous popular songs for several prominent artists, including Irwin Goodman, Jari Sillanpää, and Katri Helena. His career as a lyricist began in the 1960s, and continued until his death. During his prolific career, he wrote the lyrics for over 4,000 songs, more than 2,400 of which have been recorded. In addition to song lyrics, he authored several novels and one collection of poetry. Salmi's latest work also included collaborating with Ilkka Lipsanen on a 60th anniversary album, and he also acted as a judge on a television program on music lyrics, Salmi was awarded the Juha Vainio Writer's Award in 1993 for his long and successful career as a lyricist. Kirill "Kirka" Babitzin (Russian '' Кирилл Бабицын'', 22 September 1950 – 31 January 2007) was a Finnish vocalist and musician. One of the most commercially successful artists from Finland, his career lasted from the late 1960s until his death in 2007. Previously associated with Ilkka Lipsanen's band, The Islanders, Kirka went on to record a wide array of rock and pop music. Ilkka Juhani Sysimetsä (born 2 February 1945), known professionally as Frederik. is a Finnish singer. He is also known by his nickname Reetu. During his lengthy career of machostyle disco and pop music, he has been awarded with five gold and three diamond records. "Kung Fu Fighting" is a disco song by Jamaican-British vocalist Carl Douglas, written by Douglas and produced by British-Indian musician Biddu. Leo Paavali Jokela (24 January 1927 – 11 May 1975) was a Finnish actor. He is best remembered for his role as a detective Kokki in Matti Kassila's '' Komisario Palmu'' films and as a parrot G. Pula-aho in Spede Pasanen's radio programs. Career beginnings Jokela worked in several Finnish theatres before making his impact on films. His first major film role came in a 1954 crime comedy ''Kovanaama'', directed by Aarne Tarkas. During the next ten years, Jokela appeared in almost all Tarkas films, in bigger or smaller parts.
