Vero Nika
Vero Nika () is a Burmese Lethwei and Muay Thai fighter. She is one of the most successful female Lethwei fighters in the sport. In 2022, amid unrest in Myanmar because of the 2021 Myanmar coup d'état, she started competing in Muay Thai in neighboring Thailand where she reached the no.1 spot in the female world Muay Thai rankings at 53 kg according to World Muay Thai Organization and became Thai Fight Kard Chuek Champion. In 2025, she signed with ONE Championship. Early life Vero Nika was born in East Kahpu, a small village north of Mobye. She is a Christian and although she was born in the Shan State, she is an ethnic Kayan, and was named after Saint Veronica. Mobye
Mobye (; also spelt Mobre or Moe Bye) is a village tract within Pekon Township, Shan State, Myanmar. It is located on the southern end of the Mobye Reservoir located south of Inle Lake and contains the lowest point within Pekon Township at . The village of Mobye is located within the village tract along with 35 other villages in close proximity. Geography Mobye is located on the border with Kayah State, 10 miles northwest of its the Kayah capital Loikaw. The village tract is connected to Pekon, the township's principal town, and Loikaw through waterways, railways and a roadway. The Mobye Dam, located within the village, is built along the Pilu River (also called the Baluchaung River). Together with the Lawpita Dam, the dams power the Lawpita Power Plant system. Karenni People
The Karenni (, ), also known as the Kayah () or Kayah Li (Karenni language, Karenni: ), are a Karen people native to the Kayah State of Myanmar (Burma). According to a 1983 census, the Karenni consist of the following groups: Kayah, Geko Karen language, Geko (Kayan Ka Khaung, Gekho, Kayan Kadao), Geba Karen language, Geba (Kayan Gebar, Gaybar), Kayan people (Myanmar), Lahwi (Kayan Lahwi), Bre people, Bre, Manumanaw, Manu-Manau (Kayan Manumanao), Yintale, Yinbaw kayan kangan, Bwe Karen language, Bwe and Pa'O people, Pa'O. Muay Hardcore () was a weekly Muay Thai program broadcast on Thai television in Bangkok. First aired in 2019, the program's most distinguishing characteristic sees fighters competing in three-round Muay Thai fights with MMA gloves. The program was discontinued around mid-2022. Piamsuk Permkhunthod ( Thai: เปี่ยมสุข เพิ่มขุนทด), professionally known as Dangkongfah ( Thai: ดังก้องฟ้า), is a Thai female professional Muay Thai fighter. She became the 115-pound (52.16 kg) Thailand Champion in 2020 and the WBC Muay Thai World Champion in 2021.
