Martin Männel
Martin Männel (born 16 March 1988) is a German professional footballer, who plays for and captains club Erzgebirge Aue as a goalkeeper. Since his arrival in 2008, Männel has been spending his career with the ''Veilchen'' side. On 24 May 2015, he gained notoriety after scoring a goal against 1. FC Heidenheim that tied the match on the final score of 2–2. Club career Männel began his football career at the age of eight at FSV Velten and, later on, SC Oberhavel Velten. Oberhavel
Oberhavel is a ''Kreis'' (district) in the northern part of Brandenburg, Germany. Its neighbouring districts are (clockwise from the north): Mecklenburgische Seenplatte (district) in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, the districts of Uckermark and Barnim, the ''Bundesland'' of Berlin, and the districts of Havelland and Ostprignitz-Ruppin. Geography The district is located on the upper course of the Havel river from its source to the outskirts of Berlin. The north is characterised by many lakes including the Großer Stechlinsee, which is well known thanks to a novel by Theodor Fontane called ''Der Stechlin''. Emma Ihrer
Emma Ihrer (3 January 1857 – 8 January 1911) was a German feminist and trade unionist who was active in founding societies to defend the rights of women workers. Background Emma Ihrer was born at a time when women were disenfranchised, and under the reactionary Prussian Association law of 1850 were forbidden participation in political associations. The authorities could define "political" as they chose. In October 1878 the first of the Anti-Socialist Laws arbitrarily deprived members of the Social Democratic Party of Germany, Social Democratic Party and those associated with it of the right of association. It was not until the Association Act of 15 May 1908 that women were allowed to take part in political activities and organizations. Working women faced opposition from working men, who saw them as unwelcome competition, as well as from the authoritarian state which denied them basic civil rights.
