Vegard Vigerust
Vegard Vigerust (18 November 1925 – 27 May 2020) was a Norwegian novelist and poet. He was born in Dovre. He made his literary debut in 1954 with the satirical novel ''Stålstuten''. Further books include the novels ''Guten som ville kjøpe Norsk rikskringkasting'' from 1957, ''Sæval'' (1966), and ''Mikla'' (1970), and the poetry collections ''Istid'' from 1972, ''Jord'' (1975), ''Skimt'' (1978), and ''Strender'' (1982). His novel ''Stålstuten'' was basis for a play which was staged at Det Norske Teatret. He contributed with lyrics to the albums ''Syng Dovre'' (1998) and ''Troillspel'' (2001) by the band . In his treatment of Norwegian literature after World War II, Øystein Rottem mentions Vigerust along with other satirical and critical writers from the 1950s, such as Ragnar Kvam, , and Odd Winger. Dovre is a municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. It is located in the traditional district of Gudbrandsdal. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Dovre. Odd Winger (8 January 1923 – 4 February 1998) was a Norwegian journalist, novelist, and children's writer. Career Born in Strinda on 8 January 1923, Winger made his literary debut in 1953 with the sea novel ''Mot Land's End''. In 1962 he wrote the psychological thriller , where four protagonists are revealed as selfish male chauvinists. Another psychological thriller is from 1965, set in a suburban enviromnent. Ragnar Kvam
Ragnar Kvam (18 November 1917 – 15 February 2006) was a Norwegian journalist, novelist, translator and literary critic. He was born in Tønsberg and grew up in Drammen. After the Second World War he was journalist in the newspaper ''Fremtiden'', and the Norwegian News Agency. He made his literary debut in 1950 with the novel ''Alle vil hjem''. Among his other novels are ''De herjede menn'' from 1953, ''Den store stillheten'' from 1964, and ''Krystallnatten'' from 1970. Asker
Asker ( no, Asker), properly called Askerbygda in Norwegian, is a district and former municipality in Akershus, Norway. From 2020 it is part of the larger administrative municipality Asker, Viken (also known as Greater Asker) in Viken county, together with the traditional Buskerud districts Røyken and Hurum; Asker proper constitutes the northern fourth and is part of the Greater Oslo Region. Øystein Rottem
Øystein Rottem (1 February 1946 – 5 December 2004) was a Norwegian philologist, literary historian and literary critic. Personal life Rottem was born on the island of Hemnskjela in what was then the municipality of Heim. His parents were Sverre Bernhardsen Rottem and Solveig Terese Hassel. He was married to Gerd Synnøve Vigeland from 1969 to 1989, and to Bente Findling-Nielsen from 1991. He died from cancer in Copenhagen on 5 December 2004. Career Rottem graduated from the University of Oslo in 1976 with the cand.philol. degree. He was a literary critic for the newspaper ''Dagbladet'' from 1984, and is regarded among the most important and influential literary critics in Norway over a period of two decades.
