Varzesh
IRIB Varzesh () is a national sports TV channel in Iran which was launched on July 18, 2012 and is the fifth Iranian television channel to broadcast in digital mode and the second one to broadcast in High Definition quality. This channel is currently available using Set-top box devices and online. This channel broadcasts some sports competitions held in Iran and the world. Broadcasting of channel programs in HD format and HEVC codec from terrestrial and satellite receivers began on 29 November 2020. History After the implementation of the digital broadcasting system and the expansion of this system in Iran, the number of national channels increased. IRIB Varzesh was officially inaugurated on 18 July 2012 with the presence of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the then President of Iran. Persian Gulf Pro League
The Persian Gulf Pro League (, ''Lig-e Bartar-e Xalij-e Fârs''), formerly known as the Iran Premier League (, ''Lig-e bartar-e Irân''), is a professional association football league in Iran and the highest level of the Iranian football league system. It is controlled by the FFIRI and is contested by 16 teams over a 30-matchday period. Each year, its top team becomes the Iranian football champion, and the two lowest finishers are relegated to the Azadegan League. Since 2013, the league comprises 16 teams. The winner of the Persian Gulf Pro League along with the Hazfi Cup champion automatically qualify for the AFC Champions League Elite group stages. The FIFA World Cup qualification is a set of competitive matches that a national association football team plays in order to qualify for one of the available berths at the final tournament of the men's FIFA World Cup. The World Games are an international multi-sport event comprising sports and sporting disciplines that are not contested in the Olympic Games. They are usually held every four years, one year after a Summer Olympic Games, over the course of 11 days. The European Games is a continental multi-sport event in the Olympic tradition contested by athletes from countries served by national Olympic committees within the European Olympic Committees (EOC), the regional association for such committees. Islamic Solidarity Games
The Islamic Solidarity Games () is a multinational, multi-sport event. Managed jointly by the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and Islamic Solidarity Sports Association (ISSA), the Games involve elite athletes of the OIC competing in a variety of sports. The most recent edition was held in Konya, Turkey, in 2022. The next edition will take place in 2025 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The FISU World University Games, formerly the Universiade, is an international multi-sport event, organized for university athletes by the International University Sports Federation (FISU). The former name is a Blend word, portmanteau of the words "University" and "Olympiad".
