Utah State Route 43
State Route 43 (SR-43) is a state highway in the U.S. state of Utah. Running for , the highway is a Utah connection between Wyoming Highways 414 and 530 (where the routes both end at their southern terminus). While running east–west from border-to-border, the route passes through Manila. The road became a state highway in 1918, and was assigned a number in 1927. In 1960, due to the construction of the Flaming Gorge Reservoir, a portion was realigned. Route description The route begins at the Wyoming border southeast of McKinnon and continues south as a two-lane road before turning southeast. When it intersects Birch Creek Road, the route curves to the east. Before the junction of Bennion Lane southwest of Manila, the highway turns northeast to enter through the south side of Manila. After the route turns due east through town and exits the county seat of Daggett County before curving northeast again to terminate at the Wyoming border, where the road continues as Highway 530. ... Manila, Utah
Manila is a small city located on the northern edge of Daggett County, Utah, United States, just south of the Wyoming border. The town is at the junction of State Route 43 and State Route 44, and is the county seat of Daggett County. Nearby sites include the Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area and the Flaming Gorge Reservoir just east of town, and to the south is Ashley National Forest, which includes Kings Peak (13,528 ft), the highest point in Utah. Wyoming Highway 414
Wyoming Highway 414 (WYO 414) is a state highway in eastern Uinta and extreme southwestern Sweetwater counties in the U.S. state of Wyoming. Although primarily a north–south highway, WYO 414 travels in a more east–west orientation near its southern end. It connects Utah State Route 43 (UT-43) at the Utah state line, southeast of McKinnon with Interstate 80 (I-80) and WYO 412, at a point northwest of Lyman. Wyoming Highway 530
Wyoming Highway 530 (WYO 530) is a state road that lies in southwestern Sweetwater County, Wyoming that runs along the west side of the Green River/ Flaming Gorge Reservoir. Route description Wyoming Highway 530 begins its south end at the Wyoming- Utah State Line at Utah State Route 43; this near Washam, Wyoming. From the state line, WYO 530 heads north, paralleling the west side of the Flaming Gorge Reservoir and Green River. For this length, the highway is known as West Flaming Gorge Road. The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) has invested a significant amount of time and money into improving the highway from Green River south to the border near Manila, Utah. Flaming Gorge Reservoir
Flaming Gorge Reservoir is the largest reservoir in Wyoming, on the Green River, impounded behind the Flaming Gorge Dam. Construction on the dam began in 1958 and was completed in 1964. The reservoir stores of water when measured at an elevation of above sea-level (maximum). Location The reservoir is mainly in southwest Wyoming and partially in northeastern Utah. McKinnon, Wyoming
McKinnon is a census-designated place (CDP) in Sweetwater County, Wyoming, United States. The population was 60 at the 2010 census. The first rendezvous of white traders and trappers in the Rocky Mountains took place in July 1825, just north of McKinnon along the Henrys Fork river. They joined members of William Henry Ashley's expedition. Geography McKinnon is located at (41.025720, -109.892949). According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 5.85 square miles (15.2 km2), all land.
