Uruguayan Olympic Committee
The Uruguayan Olympic Committee (, COU) was founded in 1923 and was recognized by the IOC (International Olympic Committee) that same year. It is the national governing body in charge of the Olympics. It is also a member of Pan American Sports Organization, PASO, ACNO and ODESUR. President is Julio César Maglione, since 1987, who has recently been reelected. Julio César Maglione (born November 14, 1935, in Montevideo, Uruguay) is a former member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) from Uruguay. He became an IOC member in 1996 and an honorary member in 2015.
