Upper Abkhazia
Upper Abkhazia ( ka, ზემო აფხაზეთი, Romanization of Georgian, romanized: ''Zemo Apxazeti''; ), commonly known by its administrative name, Azhara Municipality, is a geographical term and municipality of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia. The term was first introduced in 2006, to denote the northeastern part of the disputed territory of Abkhazia, that had remained under Georgia (country), Georgian control after the War in Abkhazia (1992-1993), 1992 War in Abkhazia. From September 2006 to August 2008 its main village, Chkhalta, hosted the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia and was the seat of the Azhara municipal community. List Of Municipalities In Georgia (country)
A municipality is a subdivision of Georgia, consisting of a settlement or community (თემი ''temi''), which enjoy local self-government. A total of 69 municipalities are registered as of January 2019. Five municipalities are entirely located in breakaway Abkhazia and South Ossetia, and are effectively not governed by Tbilisi. The remaining 64 are divided over five self-governing cities (ქალაქი ''kalaki'') and 59 self-governing communities. Background The municipalities were first established in 2006. Most of them were successors to the earlier subdivisions, known as '' raioni'' (რაიონი), 'districts'. In addition, new municipalities were formed to govern those settlements in the disputed entities of Abkhazia and South Ossetia that at the time remained under Georgia's control. Sadzen
Lesser Abkhazia ( Georgian: ჯიქეთი, Jiqeti) was the term used to refer to those lands of Abkhazia that were not subject to the direct control of the ruling Shervashidze dynasty. The area was part of the Black Sea Governorate during Russian rule. History The territory was part of the Kingdom of Georgia between 10th and 15th centuries. After the Russian-Circassian War, the bulk of the mountaineers relocated to the Ottoman Empire, while the depopulated coastline was gradually colonized by Christian settlers of various ethnicity. Sadzen was an ill-defined region on the eastern shore of the Black Sea which used to be settled by the Sadz people, hence the name. In the mid-19th century, it came to be known in Russian and Western literature as Lesser Abkhazia. 2008 South Ossetia War

Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia ( ka, სრულიად საქართველოს კათოლიკოს პატრიარქი) is the Archbishop of Mtskheta and Tbilisi and the head of Georgian Orthodox Church. Mikheil "Misha" Saakashvili (born 21 December 1967) is a Georgian and Ukrainian politician and jurist. He was the third president of Georgia for two consecutive terms from 25 January 2004 to 17 November 2013. Emzar Kvitsiani
Emzar Kvitsiani ( ka, ემზარ კვიციანი, ; born 25 April 1961) is a former Georgian military commander and politician. He took part in the War in Abkhazia (1992–1993), forming a paramilitary group '' Monadire'' in the upper Kodori valley, guarding it from Abkhaz forces. He was mainly active in Kodori valley, which he ran ''de facto'' through his militia from 1992 to 2006. In 1999, President Eduard Shevardnadze appointed Kvitsiani to the post of President's special envoy to Kodori valley. In 2001, Kvitsiani allegedly cooperated with Chechen field commander Ruslan Gelayev in an attempt to bring Abkhazia back under Georgian control.
