Unnati Hooda
Unnati Hooda (born 20 September 2007) is an Indian badminton player. In 2022, she won the women's singles event at the Odisha Masters. She was also part of India's 2022 Uber Cup team. Career 2021–22 In 2021, Unnati Hooda's first tournament played was the India International Challenge where she lost to Anupama Upadhyaya in the finals. In January 2022, Unnati played in the 2022 Odisha Open where she won the tournament beating Smit Toshniwal in the finals, winning her first ever BWF World Tour tournament. She was a silver medalist at the 2022 Badminton Asia Junior U17 and U15 Championships held in Nonthaburi, Thailand in the U17 singles event. 2023 In 2023, Unnati Hooda defeated compatriot Samiya Imad Farooqui in the 2023 Abu Dhabi Masters finals and won her second BWF World Tour Title. 2023 BWF World Tour
The 2023 BWF World Tour (officially known as 2023 HSBC BWF World Tour for sponsorship reasons), is the sixth season of the BWF World Tour of badminton, a circuit of 31 tournaments that lead up to the World Tour Finals tournament. The 31 tournaments are divided into five levels: Level 1 is the said World Tour Finals, Level 2 called Super 1000 (4 tournaments), Level 3 called Super 750 (6 tournaments), Level 4 called Super 500 (9 tournaments) and Level 5 called Super 300 (11 tournaments). Each of these tournaments offers different ranking points and prize money. The highest points and prize pool are offered at the Super 1000 level (including the World Tour Finals). One other category of the tournament, the BWF Tour Super 100 (level 6), also offers BWF World Tour ranking points. It still acts as an important part of the pathway and entry point for players into the BWF World Tour tournaments. The BWF World Tour is a Badminton World Federation#Grade 2, Grade 2 badminton tournament series, sanctioned by Badminton World Federation (BWF). It is a competition open to the top world ranked players in singles (men's and women's) and doubles (men's, women's and mixed). The girls' singles of the tournament 2023 BWF World Junior Championships was an individual badminton tournament to crowned the best girls' singles under 19 player across the BWF associate members around the world. Uber Cup
The Uber Cup, sometimes called the World Women's Team Championships, is a major international badminton competition contested by women's national badminton teams. First held in 1956–1957 and contested at three year intervals, it has been contested every two years since 1984 when its scheduled times and venues were merged with those of Thomas Cup, the world men's team championship. In 2007, the Badminton World Federation decided to have Thomas and Uber Cup finals separated again but the proposal was ultimately abandoned. The Uber Cup is named after a former British women's badminton player, Betty Uber, who in 1950 had the idea of hosting a women's event similar to the men's. She also made the draw for the 1956–1957 inaugural tournament, which took place at Lytham St. Annes in Lancashire, England. 2023 BWF World Junior Championships – Teams Event
The teams event of the 2023 BWF World Junior Championships is being held from 25 – 30 September 2023. The event is also known as the 2023 Suhandinata Cup. South Korea was the champion of the last edition held in Santander, Spain. 38 countries representing all five continental federations are competing in this event. The group draw was done on 9 August. Top seeds China were drawn with defending champions South Korea, Australia, Netherlands and Norway in group A.
