Umurah
''Umurah'' is a 1999 Maldivian drama film directed by Ali Musthafa. Produced by Hassan Ali and Ahmed Sharan Ali under Dash Studio, the film stars Reeko Moosa Manik, Hussain Sobah, Jamsheedha Ahmed and Zeenath Abbas in pivotal roles. Premise Dr. Riyaz (Reeko Moosa Manik) often wakes up to a vivid dream and decides to take a break from work. He proposes to a heartbroken Jamsheedha ( Jamsheedha Ahmed) who refuses to extend their relationship beyond friendship since she is deeply in love with someone else. Slightly convinced by her nurse friend, Raheema (Zeenath Abbas) and concerned about the condition of Riyaz's mother, Zulfa (Aminath Rasheedha), a heart patient, Jamsheedha reluctantly accepts Riyaz's marriage proposal. Zeenath Abbas
Fathimath Zeenath (born 14 August 1978), commonly known as Zeenath Abbas is a Maldivian actress. She has established a career in Maldivian films and is the recipient of a Gaumee Film Award. Making her screen debut alongside Reeko Moosa Manik in the song "Edheythee Reethi Moona", her first film release was Mohamed Rasheed directed drama film '' Kuhveriya'' (1998). Aminath Rasheedha
Aminath Rasheedha (born 27 February 1967) is a Maldivian actress and director. Career 1993–2006: Early releases and directorial debut In 1995, Rasheedha appeared in Mohamed Shiyaz's ''Dhushman'' which features Hussain Sobah, Mariyam Nisha and Hamid Ali in pivotal roles. In the film, she plays the role Seema, a sympathetic doctor who falls in love with a blind man. Fauziyya Hassan
Fauziyya Hassan (8 January 1942 – 31 August 2022) was a Maldivian film actress. She made her film debut in ''Sidha'' in 1985. In 1994 she was arrested by the Indian police on espionage charges relating to the Indian Space Research Organisation. She and a friend were accused of passing sensitive defence information to Pakistan. The espionage case against Hassan was not proven and eventually other charges were dropped, though she spent three years in prison under the National Security Act. After her release Hassan appeared in a number of television dramas and films, including a run of horror films in the early 2000s. She afterwards appeared in a number of romantic dramas including '' Vaaloabi Engeynama'', for which she was nominated for best supporting actress at the 2008 Gaumee Film Awards. Jamsheedha Ahmed (2 December 1978) is a Maldivian actress. Career 1996–99: Early releases and ''Amaanaaiy'' Ahmed made her screen debut in 1996 with the video single titled "Nudhaashe Dhookohfaa Loabivaa" performed by Abdul Sameeu. Recalling her memories of the song, Ahmed said it was a "fun experience" accepted as a favor to her friend. With her "timid" behavior and lack of trainings, Ahmed "struggled" while performing the song. However, upon release, the song was accepted among the audience where she received several offers to feature in songs and film. Fathimath Nahula (born 22 June 1973) is a Maldivians, Maldivian film director, film producer and screenwriter. Hussain Sobah (11 November 1972) is a Maldivian film actor, music composer and playback singer. Career In 1995, Sobah featured in Mohamed Shiyaz's ''Dhushman'' alongside Mariyam Nisha, Aminath Rasheedha and Hamid Ali in pivotal roles. In the film, he plays the character Riyaz, an underprivileged young man who loses his girlfriend over social discrimination. Hassan Ali Manik professionally known as Koyya Hassan Manik (25 April 1953 – 20 February 2021) was a Maldivian film actor and producer. Career 1989–2008: Early releases and first lead role with ''Ajaaib'' In 1989, Najuma offered him to feature in ''Hama Mihaaru'', one of the programs aired in the Dhivehi Rajjeyge Adu, where he took part in a total of eighteen episodes in a span of three years. Rafiyath Rameeza (23 March 1976) is a Maldivian singer. Early life Rafiyath Rameeza was born and raised in the "Rameez family" where several artists including Ali Rameez and Ibrahim Rameez were brought up and "ruled" the music industry. At the age of 12, while studying at Aminiya School, she competed in the Television Maldives Interschool Singing Competition and continued to participate in the same competition for more years. Abdul Bari Aboobakur commonly spelled as Abdul Baree (20 March 1967) is a former Maldivian singer. Sofa Thowfeek commonly spelled as Sofa Thaufeeq (11 August 1967) is a Maldivian singer. Early life and career Sofa Thaufeeq was born on 11 August 1967. Her father, Mohamed Thaufeeq was mostly known for his strong voice in the radio program ''Keerithi Rasoolaage Siyarathu'' while her mother, Aishath Fareedha is a homemaker and singer. She is the sister of notable local playback singers Shifa Thaufeeq and Asim Thaufeeq. At the age of eight, she was selected in her school's chorus group, where she started singing and performing on school concerts and locals events. Umar Zahir (30 May 1971) is a Maldivian singer. Career Born in GA. Dhaandhoo, Adam initiated his career as a musician by joining a local band to take part in some of the occasional stage shows held in his island and atoll. He rose to prominence in the year 1999, where he released the studio albums ''Husreethi'' and ''Nadhuru'' which all went to become a huge success. This led to Mukhthar receiving several offers from music directors and his voice was heard in several albums released during the year 2000 to 2006.
