Ulle Schauws
Ursula "Ulle" Schauws (born 30 April 1966) is a German politician of the Alliance '90/The Greens party. Education and early career Schauws studied history, politics and film studies. She worked as contributing editor and dramaturge for German film productions – including ''Alarm für Cobra 11 – Die Autobahnpolizei'' – before becoming a social worker with SOS Children's Villages. Political career Schauws has been a member of the German Bundestag since the 2013 federal elections, representing the Krefeld II – Wesel II district. She successfully ran for re-election again in 2017, this time on the 11th place of the Green Party's list. Since joining the parliament, Schauws has been serving on the Committee on Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth, which appointed her as deputy chairperson in 2018. Bundestag
The Bundestag (, "Federal Diet (assembly), Diet") is the lower house of the Germany, German Federalism in Germany, federal parliament. It is the only constitutional body of the federation directly elected by the German people. 2017 German Federal Election
The 2017 German federal election was held in Germany on 24 September 2017 to elect the List of members of the 19th Bundestag, members of the 19th Bundestag. At stake were at least 598 seats in the Bundestag, as well as 111 Overhang seat, overhang and leveling seats determined thereafter. The Christian Democratic Union of Germany and the Christian Social Union of Bavaria (CDU/CSU), led by incumbent chancellor Angela Merkel, won the highest percentage of the vote with 33%, though it suffered a large swing against it of more than 8%. Ricarda Lang (born 17 January 1994) is a German politician of the Alliance 90/The Greens who has been serving as a member of the Bundestag since 2021. Lang served as her party's co-leader from 2022 to 2024, alongside Omid Nouripour. Previously, she was co-deputy leader of the party and spokeswoman for women's policy from 2019 to 2022, and co-leader of the Green Youth from 2017 to 2019. 2021 German Federal Election
The 2021 German federal election was held in Germany on 26 September 2021 to elect the members of the 20th Bundestag. State elections in Berlin and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern were also held. Incumbent chancellor Angela Merkel, first elected in 2005, chose not to run again, marking the first time that an incumbent Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany did not seek re-election. A coalition government, or coalition cabinet, is a government by political parties that enter into a power-sharing arrangement of the executive. Coalition governments usually occur when no single party has achieved an absolute majority after an election. A party not having majority is common under proportional representation, but not in nations with majoritarian electoral systems.
