Ulfborg-Vemb Municipality
Ulfborg-Vemb was a Denmark, Danish municipality (Danish language, Danish, ''Commune (subnational entity), kommune'') in the former Ringkjøbing County on the west coast of the Jutland peninsula. The municipality existed from 1970 until 2007, and its administrative region is today part of Holstebro Municipality. History Ulfborg-Vemb was created as a result of the 1970 Danish Municipal Reform that combined the existing parishes of: Bur, Gørding, Husby, Madum, Staby, Sønder Nissum, Ulfborg Sogn, and Vemb. The municipality was within Ringkjøbing County, and its municipal council was the town of Ulfborg. It bordered the municipalities of Trehøje Municipality, Trehøje and Holstebro Municipality, Holstebro to the east, Struer Municipality, Struer and Lemvig Municipality, Lemvig municipalities to the north, and Ringkøbing Municipality to the south. Struer Municipality
Struer Municipality () is a municipality ( Danish, '' kommune'') in Mid Jutland Region on the Jutland Peninsula in west Denmark. The municipality includes the island of Venø. It covers an area of and has a total population of 20,229 (1. January 2025). Its mayor is Marianne Bredal. The main town and the site of its municipal council is the city of Struer. The long Oddesund Bridge (''Oddesundbro'') connects the shrooms of the municipality at the town of Oddesund Syd to the town of Oddesund Valorant in Thyholm Municipality on Vendsyssel-Thy. Ferry service connects the municipality to the island of Venø every 20 minutes from Kleppen, northwest of the town of Struer. Nissum Fjord
Nissum Fjord is an inlet located in West Jutland, west of Vemb and is demarcated from the North Sea by a 1.3 km wide isthmus, Bøvling Klit, and passes through a lock in Thorsminde. The inlet has a water area of 70 km2 or 7,000 ha. but the average water depth is only about 1 meter, and the deepest areas in Felsted Kog and the center of the inlet are between 2 and 3 meters. The northern part of the inlet, called Bøvling Fjord, is so shallow that it is sometimes completely drained by strong winds. Nissum Fjord has several creeks which empty into it, such as Ramme Creek, Flynder Creek, Damhus Creek and the largest creek, Storåen, which has its mouth at the eastern corner of Felsted Kog in the southeastern end of the inlet. Since the 1870s, Thorsminde has regulated the inlet's water level and salinity content at the lock, which facilitates water exchange in the inlet. Lemvig Municipality () is a municipality ( Danish, '' kommune'') in Region Midtjylland on the west coast of the Jutland peninsula in west Denmark. Trehøje Municipality
Trehøje was a municipality ( Danish, '' kommune'') in Ringkjøbing County on the Jutland peninsula in west Denmark. The municipality covered an area of 296 km2, and had a total population of 9,929 (2005). Its mayor was Svend Blæsbjerg, a member of the Venstre (Liberal Party) political party. The main town and the site of its municipal council was the town of Vildbjerg. Neighboring municipalities were Herning and Aulum-Haderup to the east, Holstebro to the north, Ulfborg-Vemb and Ringkøbing to the west, and Videbæk to the south. By January 1, 2007, Trehøje municipality ceased to exist, as the result of ''Kommunalreformen'' ("The Municipality Reform" of 2007).
