Ulf Stolterfoht
Ulf Stolterfoht (born 8 June 1963 in Stuttgart) is a German writer. Life and work Ulf Stolterfoht opted out of military service and performed civilian service instead, after which he studied German and Linguistics in Bochum und Tübingen. Stolterfoht writes language-critical lyric poetry and essays which have been published in many anthologies (e.g. Der Große Conrady) and literary magazines. His first publication was the poetry volume "fachsprachen I-IX" ('specialist languages I-IX') which appeared in 1998 published by Urs Engeler Editor. In 2005, his translation of Gertrude Stein's "Winning His Way" appeared. From 2008 to 2009, he was visiting professor in the German Institute of Literature in Leipzig. Since 2014 he has been a member of the Deutsche Akademie für Sprache und Dichtung in Darmstadt. Ernst-Meister-Preis Für Lyrik
Ernst-Meister-Preis für Lyrik (Ernst Meister Prize for Poetry) is a literary prize of Germany. The prize is endowed with €5,000. The Ernst Meister Prize was founded in 1981 in memory of the Hagen poet and writer Ernst Meister and has been awarded at irregular intervals. Since 2021, the award will be organized every three years by the New Ernst Meister Society for the city of Hagen. The prize honors "the work of authors who express their responsibility for language and poetry in a special way". Villa Massimo, short for Deutsche Akademie Rom Villa Massimo (), is a German cultural institution in Rome, established in 1910 and located in the Villa Massimo. The fellowship of the German Academy in Rome, often referred to as the German Rome Prize, is one of the most important awards granted to distinguished artists for study abroad. The award offers residencies of one year at Villa Massimo in Rome as well as three months at Casa Baldi in Olevano Romano to artists who have excelled in Germany and abroad, including architects, composers, writers and artists. The institution's founder was the patron and entrepreneur Eduard Arnhold, who in 1910 acquired the property of 36,000 m2, previously the suburban villa of the aristocratic Massimo family. Merano Poetry Prize
The Merano Poetry Prize (German: Lyrikpreis Meran) is an international literary prize for German-language poetry that was founded by Alfred Gruber (1929–1998), a South Tyrolian catholic priest and writer. The biennial competition was established in 1993 and is awarded by the South Tyrolean provincial government in the city of Merano ever since. In addition to the main award (1. Preis), which is endowed with €8,000, usually two further prizes are awarded, the Alfred Gruber Prize (Alfred-Gruber-Preis, endowed with €3,500) and the Media Prize of the RAI broadcaster South Tyrol (Medienpreis der RAI Südtirol, endowed with €2,500). Anna Seghers-Preis
Anna Seghers Preis is a literary prize of Germany. The prize goes back to the German writer Anna Seghers (1900–1983), who stated in her testament that the revenues from her work should be used to encourage promising young writers. The award is endowed with 25,000 euros, to be awarded in equal parts to an author from the German and the Latin American region. The prize has been awarded since 1986 by the Academy of Arts (Berlin) till 1994, later by the Anna Seghers Foundation.
