Udayagiri Assembly Constituency
Udayagiri Assembly constituency is a constituency in Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh that elects representatives to the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly in India. It is one of the seven assembly segments of Nellore Lok Sabha constituency. Kakarla Suresh is the current MLA of the constituency, having won the 2024 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly election from Telugu Desam Party. As of 2024, there are a total of 231,202 electors in the constituency. The constituency was established in 1951, as per the ''Delimitation Orders (1951)''. Mandal There are Eight Mandals. 2024 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election
The 2024 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly election was held in the States and union territories of India, Indian state of Andhra Pradesh on 13 May 2024 for constituting the 16th Andhra Pradesh Assembly, sixteenth Andhra Pradesh Assembly. They were held alongside the 2024 Indian general election. The election results were declared on 4 June 2024. The political alliance Kutami, led by the Telugu Desam Party won the election in a Landslide (politics), landslide, winning 164 of the 175 seats. The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) won 135 out of 144 contested seats. The 1983 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly election was held in May 1983 for all 294 constituencies in Andhra Pradesh. 1955 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election
Elections to the Andhra State Legislative Assembly were held on 11 February 1955. 581 candidates contested for the 167 constituencies in the Assembly. 1952 Madras Legislative Assembly Election
The 1952 Madras State Legislative Assembly election was held on 27 March 1952 to elect all 375 members of the Legislative Assembly of Madras State (present-day Tamil Nadu). They were the first elections held in the state following Indian independence. Although voting was held in 1952, the Election Commission of India officially designated it as taking place in 1951. No party won an outright majority in the election, though the Indian National Congress (INC) emerged as the largest party with 152 seats and more than a third of the vote. Mekapati Chandrasekhar Reddy
Mekapati Chandrasekhar Reddy (born 1954) is an Indian politician from Andhra Pradesh. He is a four-time MLA from Udayagiri Assembly Constituency in Nellore district. He won the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly election representing YSR Congress Party but did not contest the 2024 Assembly election. Early life and education Reddy was born in Brahmanapalli, Marripaadu, Nellore district. His father M. Venku Reddy was a farmer. He completed his intermediate, the pre university course, from Jawahar Bharathi in Kavali in 1968. Career Reddy started his political career with Indian National Congress in 2004.
