In 2019 they won Division 2 Norra Svealand and gained promotion to Division 1, the third highest league, where they will be playing in 2020. During the 2020/21 season, the club reached its highest position ever 11th in Division 1 Norra with a young and talented squad where the oldest player was their captain at 23 years old. Täby () was previously a trimunicipal locality, with 76,700 inhabitants in 2024. However, as from 2016, Statistics Sweden has amalgamated this locality with the Stockholm urban area. Täby IS
Täby IS is a Swedish cross-country skiing, track and field athletics and non-competitive floorball team from Täby outside Stockholm. The club has also had a football section which in 2012 merged with IFK Täby to form Täby FK. Background Täby IS's football section played its last season in Division 4 Stockholm Norra which is the sixth tier of Swedish football. They played their home matches at the Tibblevallen in Täby. Ettan Fotboll, or simply Ettan (), which also is its common name in everyday speech, is the third level in the Swedish football league system and consists of 32 Swedish football teams. It was formerly simply known as ''Division 1''. Division 1 was the second tier from 1987 to 1999, but was replaced by Superettan in 2000. It was reestablished for the 2006 season as the third tier below Superettan.
