Tyler Tio
Christian Tyler Chan Tio (born April 5, 1998) is a Filipino-Canadian professional basketball player for the Phoenix Fuel Masters of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). Early life and high school career Tio was born the youngest of three siblings. His parents were former Filipino citizens before acquiring Canadian citizenship. His father was in the poultry business before retiring while his mother owns a travel agency. His first sport was swimming before focusing on basketball as his father and older brother Tristan influenced him to take up the sport. Tio played for Xavier School's basketball varsity team from grade school all the way to high school. In 2013, Tio was one of the 10 players who stood out during the Jr. NBA Philippines camp. Point Guard
The point guard (PG), also called the one or the point, is one of the Basketball positions, five positions in a regulation basketball game. A point guard has perhaps the most specialized role of any position and is usually the shortest player on the court. Point guards are expected to control the pace of the game. They effectively "run" the team's offense by controlling the ball and making sure that it gets to the right player at the right time. Generally, point guards are expected to be proficient in passing the ball and being able to get Assist (basketball), assists to teammates. San Miguel Beermen
The San Miguel Beermen are a professional basketball team in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). It is one of three PBA clubs owned by the San Miguel Corporation group of companies along with Barangay Ginebra San Miguel and Magnolia Chicken Timplados Hotshots. It is the most successful franchise in the history of the PBA and the only remaining original franchise in the league. The Beermen have the most titles with 29 and the most all-time victories with more than 1,200 wins. Chris Ross (basketball)
Christopher Michael Ross (born March 9, 1985) is a Filipino-American professional basketball player for the San Miguel Beermen of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). He also serves as an assistant coach for the same team. Ross played high school basketball at John Jay High School (San Antonio), John Jay High School in San Antonio, Texas, where as a junior, he made a 50-foot, half-court buzzer-beater to win the 2002 Class 5A state basketball championship for Jay. After high school he played college basketball at McLennan Community College and Marshall University. Ross can play both guard positions and is currently the starting point guard for the Beermen. UST Growling Tigers Basketball
The UST Growling Tigers basketball is the intercollegiate men's basketball program of the University of Santo Tomas. The school has won 19 basketball titles including one in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). They are one of the winningest teams in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) with 18 championships, the last coming in 2006 during Pido Jarencio's rookie year of coaching. FEU Tamaraws Basketball
FEU Tamaraws are the collegiate basketball varsity team of the Far Eastern University (FEU). FEU currently holds the record of winning the most number of championships (20 championships) in the men's basketball division of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines. FEU also appeared in the Philippine Collegiate Championship finals four times, and was able to win back to back championships in 2004 and 2005. The team originally played in the NCAA from 1929 to 1936 and was one of its founding members. Samjosef Rasmo Belangel (born June 27, 1999) is a Filipino professional basketball player for Daegu KOGAS Pegasus of the Korean Basketball League (KBL). The UE Red Warriors, Lady Warriors, Junior Warriors and Lady Junior Warriors are the collegiate men's and women's, and high school men's and women's, respectively, varsity teams of the University of the East (UE) that play in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines.
