Tyāga
Tyāga (Sanskrit: त्याग) is a Sanskrit word that means "sacrifice, giving up in generosity, forsaking, resigning" anything of value, as well as "renunciation" depending on the context. It is an ethical concept in Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism. Etymology Tyāga means – sacrifice, renunciation, abandonment, resignation, donation, forsaking, liberality, withdrawal Tyāga which is not merely physical renunciation of the world is different from Sannyasa; Sannyasa which comes from the root as means – "giving up entirely", Tyāga means – "giving up with generosity what one could probably have kept". ''Tyaag'' () is a 1977 Bollywood film directed by Din Dayal Sharma. The film stars Rajesh Khanna and Sharmila Tagore in lead roles. The film was produced by Sharmila Tagore's secretary, N.S. Kabir, and was co-produced by Sharmila Tagore. Rajesh Khanna's real-life secretary Gurnam Singh played the side kick Bansi to Khanna's character Chetan in this film. The film was critically acclaimed and given four stars by critics upon its release in Bollywood Guide Collections. It was the last film to be released with the music director as S.D. Burman. ''Thyagam'' ( ) is a 1978 Indian Tamil-language drama film directed by K. Vijayan, starring Sivaji Ganesan and Lakshmi. It is a remake of the 1974 Bengali film '' Amanush''. The film was released on 4 March 1978 and became one of the highest-grossing Tamil films of the year. Plot Raja and Radha are lovers. Raja is a rich man who has now fallen into depths of despair and poverty due to machinations of Ramasamy who was their accountant. He has taken over the family property after sending Raja to prison under fake rape and murder charges. Radha too has left him. Tyagi
Tyagi, originally called Taga, is a cultivator caste who claim Brahmin status. The landholding community is confined to Western Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Delhi and Rajasthan. They are often considered the highest of the agricultural castes. During the British Raj, they changed their name from Taga to Tyagi, and began claiming Brahmin status. As of a 1990 report by the Backward Classes Commission, Government of Haryana, they were mostly engaged in farming. The Government of Haryana granted reservation to Tyagis along with five other castes in 2016. However, the Punjab and Haryana High Court shortly put a stay on the government's order.
