Ty Emberson
Ty Emberson (born May 23, 2000) is an American professional ice hockey defenseman for the San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League (NHL). Playing career Emberson was on the Wisconsin state ice hockey team as a youth and spent two years at Memorial High School in Eau Claire, where he totaled 49 points in 46 games. He then spent two years with the USA Hockey National Team Development Program and was a member of the under-17 and under-18 national teams; he scored 23 points in 59 games with the under-17 squad and 12 points in 36 games with the under-18 team. Emberson was selected by the Arizona Coyotes with the 73rd overall pick of the 2018 NHL Entry Draft, but opted to go to college instead of start his professional career. He then enrolled at the University of Wisconsin–Madison and played for their Wisconsin Badgers ice hockey team, scoring 12 points in 37 games as a freshman. Eau Claire (; ) (French for "clear water") is a city mostly located in Eau Claire County, Wisconsin, of which it is the county seat, and with a small portion in Chippewa County, Wisconsin. 2020–21 NCAA Division I Men's Ice Hockey Season
The 2020–21 NCAA Division I men's ice hockey season began on November 14, 2020 and concluded with the Frozen Four on April 10, 2021. Due to the cancellation of the previous year's tournament due to COVID-19 pandemic, this was the 73rd season in which an NCAA ice hockey championship was held, and was US college hockey's 127th year overall. Due to concerns related to the pandemic, the start of the season was delayed until what would have normally been the 8th week of play. Despite having to contend with contend with cancellations and delays due to the pandemic, the season was completed. Massachusetts won their first National Championship, ending the 4-year run of NCHC teams. IIHF World U18 Championship
The IIHF U18 World Championship is an annual event organized by the International Ice Hockey Federation for national under-18 ice hockey teams from around the world. The tournament is usually played in April and is organized according to a system similar to the Ice Hockey World Championships and the IIHF World Junior Championship. Plus–minus (sports)
Plus−minus (+/−, ±, plus/minus) is a sports statistic used to measure a player's impact, represented by the difference between their team's total scoring versus their opponent's when the player is in the game. Ice hockey In ice hockey, the plus–minus measures a player's goal differential. When a team that is at even-strength or shorthanded scores a goal, all players on the ice on the scoring team will register a plus while all players on the conceding team on the ice will register a minus. When a goal is scored by a team on the power play, no plus or minus points are awarded to either team. Empty net situations are treated the same as even-strength unless the team that scores is on the power play. Penalty shot goals are excluded. A player's plus−minus statistic is calculated for each game played. 2022–23 AHL Season
The 2022–23 AHL season is the 87th season of the American Hockey League. The regular season began on October 14, 2022, and will end on April 16, 2023. The 2023 Calder Cup playoffs will follow after the conclusion of the regular season. League changes After the previous regular season where teams played an imbalanced schedule consisting of 76, 72, or 68 games, all teams will now play an equal amount of games at 72. Standings will also be in order of points rather than points percentage (points percentage was used in the previous season, due to an imbalanced amount of games played per team). This also means the Macgregor Kilpatrick Trophy for the regular season champion will no longer be awarded based on points percentage, but rather total points. Hartford Wolf Pack
The Hartford Wolf Pack are a professional ice hockey team based in Hartford, Connecticut. A member of the American Hockey League (AHL), they play their home games at the XL Center. The team was established in 1926 as the Providence Reds. After a series of relocations, the team moved to Hartford in 1997 as the Hartford Wolf Pack. It is one of the oldest professional hockey franchises in existence, and the oldest continuously operating minor league hockey franchise in North America. Patrik Geza Nemeth (born February 8, 1992) is a Swedish professional ice hockey defenceman who is currently playing with SC Bern of the National League (NL). Nemeth was selected in the second round, 41st overall, by the Dallas Stars in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. Playing career AIK As a youth, Nemeth originally played within the AIK junior system. As a 15-year old, he spent one junior season with Hammarby IF in the J18 Elit in 2007–08 before returning to the ranks of AIK.
