Twin Anchors Invitational
The Prestige Hotels & Resorts Curling Classic is an annual curling tournament on the men's and women's curling tour. It is held at the Vernon Curling Club in Vernon, British Columbia. It was a part of the World Curling Tour until 2019 when it was discontinued. It is held at the beginning of October, with the beginning of the bonspiel sometimes occurring in September. The event has been held since 2001. Vernon, British Columbia
Vernon is a city in the Okanagan region of the Southern Interior of British Columbia, Canada. It is northeast of Vancouver. Named after Forbes George Vernon, a former MLA of British Columbia who helped establish the Coldstream Ranch in nearby Coldstream, the City of Vernon was incorporated on December 30, 1892. The City of Vernon has a population of 40,000 (2013), while its metropolitan region, Greater Vernon, has a population of 58,584 as of the Canada 2011 Census. Sean Geall
Sean Geall ( ); (born January 29, 1975 in Surrey, British Columbia) is a Canadian curler from Tappen, British Columbia. Curling career To date, Geall has two provincial championships to his credit, and thus two Brier appearances. Geall and his Royal City Curling Club rink of Brent Pierce, Kevin Recksiedler and Mark Olson won the 2009 Canadian Direct Insurance BC Men's Provincials by defeating Jay Peachey 8-7 in the final. This qualified the team to represent British Columbia at the 2009 Tim Hortons Brier. At the Brier, Geall's team finished the round robin with a 6-5 record, missing the playoffs. Geall would play with the same team for the following season, but formed a new rink in 2010 with Grant Dezura, Scott Meechan and Kevin MacKenzie. Tyler N. Tardi (born August 10, 1998 in Richmond, British Columbia) is a Canadian curler originally from Cloverdale, British Columbia. Career Juniors Tardi first came onto the national curling scene skipping the host British Columbia team at the 2015 Canada Winter Games in Prince George, British Columbia where he would pick up a bronze medal. After losing in the British Columbia junior finals in both 2013 and 2014, Tardi and his rink of Daniel Wenzek, brother Jordan, Nicholas Meister, and Sterling Middleton won the 2016 British Columbia men's junior championship. The team represented the province at the 2016 Canadian Junior Curling Championships, and went 7-3 after the round robin portion, making the playoffs in third place. Dean Joanisse
Dean A. "Skippy" Joanisse (born December 8, 1971) is a Canadian curler from Maple Ridge, British Columbia. Career Joanisse is most notable for skipping his British Columbia team to the 1989 Canadian Junior Curling Championships title, qualifying him to represent Canada at the 1990 World Junior Curling Championships. At the World Juniors, he lost to Peja Lindholm's team from Sweden in the bronze medal final. Joanisse also skipped two teams to the Brier. At the 2001 Nokia Brier his team finished with a 4-7 record. Grant Dezura
Grant Dezura (born October 20, 1973) is a Canadian curler from Maple Ridge, British Columbia. As a junior curler, Dezura won two provincial championships, in 1991 and 1992. He skipped Team British Columbia at both the 1991 and 1992 Canadian Junior Curling Championships. In 1991, after posting an 8-3 round robin record, he led his B.C. rink to a semifinal loss to Northern Ontario's Jason Repay. Brady Clark (curler)
Brady Clark (born September 12, 1977) is an American curler from Lynnwood, Washington. Clark is a ten-time national mixed champion, three-time national mixed doubles champion, and two-time national men's champion (2013 & 2016). He has played in three World Mixed Doubles Curling Championships and one World Men's Championship. Career As a junior, Clark played in five national junior championships, placing 3rd in 1998 and 1999. He also won the National College Tournament in 1999. Following juniors, Clark went on to play in nine national men's championships, 12 national mixed championships, and five national mixed doubles championships. Jamie King (curler)
Jamie King (born November 21, 1973 in Edmonton, Alberta) is a Canadian curler. King was the alternate for the Kevin Koe rink in 2010, where he won 2010 Tim Hortons Brier and 2010 Capital One World Men's Curling Championship. King played in just two games at the World Championships, against Denmark and Japan. For much of that season, King skipped his own Edmonton-based rink. Following the season, King joined the Warren Hassall rink as third, and then skipped the rink the following season. Jim Cotter (curler)
James H. Cotter (born October 15, 1974 in Kamloops, British Columbia) is a Canadian curler from Vernon, British Columbia. Career Cotter grew up in Kamloops, playing both curling and baseball as a youth. As a high school student, he won three provincial high school championships (1990, 1991, 1993). He won two provincial junior crowns, in 1990 and in 1995. At the 1990 Canadian Junior Curling Championships, he skipped the B.C. team to a 6-5 round robin record. This put them in a five-way tie for third place. They would be eliminated from the playoffs however, when they lost their first tie-breaker match to Nova Scotia's Brian Fowlie. Five years later in his last year of eligibility, Cotter was back, skipping the B.C. team at the 1995 Canadian Junior Curling Championships. Robert "Rob" Schlender (born January 29, 1972 in Millet, Alberta) is a Canadian curling, curler from Sherwood Park, Alberta.
