Turki Al-Maliki
Turki bin Saleh Al-Maliki (; born 1974) is a Saudi Colonel and member of the Department of Plans and Operations at the command of the Royal Saudi Air Force. He is the spokesperson for the Saudi-led intervention in the Yemeni civil war, Saudi-led Coalition in Yemen since 2017, succeeding Major General Ahmad Asiri (general), Ahmad Asiri, who was the head of the mission since the start of the military intervention led by the Saudi Armed Forces, Operation Decisive Storm, and then Operation Restoring Hope in Yemen. Life and career Turki Al-Maliki was born in Taif in 1974, and received his bachelor’s degree in air sciences from King Faisal Air Academy with distinction in 1997. He earned a master’s degree in military studies in 2015. Taif
Taif (, ) is a city and governorate in Mecca Province in Saudi Arabia. Located at an elevation of in the slopes of the Hijaz Mountains, which themselves are part of the Sarat Mountains, the city has a population of 563,282 people in 2022, making it one of the most populous cities in the kingdom. There is a belief that Taif is indirectly referred to in Quran 43:31. The city was visited by the Islamic prophet Muhammad, sometime in the early 7th century, and was inhabited by the tribe of Banu Thaqif. It is still inhabited to this day by their descendants. As a part of the Hejaz, the city has seen many transfers-of-power throughout its history, with the last being during the Saudi conquest of Hejaz in 1925. King Abdul Aziz Air Base
King Abdulaziz Air Base () , also known as Dhahran Air Base and formerly Dhahran International Airport, Dhahran Airport and Dhahran Airfield, is a Royal Saudi Air Force base located in Dhahran in the Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia. Located west of Thuqbah and 7 km (4 mi) southeast of the Saudi Aramco Dhahran Camp, the airbase was the first Saudi Arabian airport to be constructed, in 1961, and is under the command of Air vice-marshal Prince Turki bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. The airbase was initially built and operated by the United States Air Force from 1945 until 1962 and was known as the Dhahran Airfield. Dhamar (), also spelt ''Thamar'', is a governorate of Yemen located in the central highlands.
