Trevi is the 2nd ''rione'' of Rome, identified by the initials R. II, located in Municipio I. The origin of its name is not clear, but the most accepted theory is that it comes from the Latin ''trivium'' (meaning "three streets"), because there were three streets all leading to the current Piazza dei Crociferi, a square next to the modern Trevi square. Its coat of arms is made of three swords on a red background. History This rione, during the Roman republic belonged to the third region, while during the Roman empire was split up into two regions: the VI, called ''Alta Semita'' and the VII, called ''via Lata''. During the ancient Roman period, in rione Trevi there were large groups of private houses with some monumental buildings. Trevi, Umbria
Trevi () (Latin: Trebiae) is an ancient town and ''comune ''in Umbria, Italy, on the lower flank of Monte Serano overlooking the wide plain of the Clitunno river system. It is 10 km (6 mi) SSE of Foligno and 20 km (12 mi) north of Spoleto. The population of the ''comune'' was c. 8,000 in 2004, with the town proper accounting for about half of that; the rest lives in the '' frazioni'' of Borgo, Bovara, Cannaiola, Coste, Pigge, Manciano, Matigge, Parrano, Picciche, San Lorenzo and Santa Maria in Valle. The historical subdivisions of Trevi proper are the terzieri of Castello, Matiggia e Piano; they come into play only for the Palio. Most of the town, densely inhabited and of decidedly medieval aspect, lies on sharply sloping terrain, only the very center being more or less flat. Terni ( , ; lat, Interamna (Nahars)) is a city in the southern portion of the region of Umbria in central Italy. It is near the border with Lazio. The city is the capital of the province of Terni, located in the plain of the Nera river. It is northeast of Rome and 81 km south of the regional capital, Perugia. The Latin name means "between-two-rivers", in reference to its location on the confluence of the Nera river ( Ancient Umbrian ''Nahar'', lat, Nār, Nahar) and the Serra stream. Trevi nel Lazio is a town and ''comune'' (municipality) in the province of Frosinone in the Italian region of Lazio in the upper valley of the Aniene river. It is by road northeast of Fiuggi and by road southeast of Subiaco, the nearest larger towns. History The town first makes its appearance as ''Treba'', a place of the Aequi, and later was called Treba Augusta to help distinguish it from Trebiae ( Trevi in Umbria). The town was a bishopric from 499 to 1060; in the 15th century, it was sacked by Alfonso V of Aragon. The Trevi Fountain ( it, Fontana di Trevi) is an 18th-century fountain in the Trevi district in Rome, Italy, designed by Italian architect Nicola Salvi and completed by Giuseppe Pannini and several others. The Lancia Trevi (Type 828), initially marketed as the Lancia Beta Trevi, is a saloon car that was produced between 1980 and 1984. It has transversely mounted in-line four-cylinder engines driving the front wheels. Its engines have twin overhead camshafts and electronic ignition. The clutch is a single dry plate with diaphragm and a five-speed gearbox was standard. The suspension consists of MacPherson struts all round with coil springs and anti-roll bar.
