Traffic (band)
Traffic were an English rock music, rock band formed in Birmingham in April 1967 by Jim Capaldi, Steve Winwood, Chris Wood (rock musician), Chris Wood and Dave Mason.[ Traffic Biography.] AllMusic. Michael J McEvoy (born August 29, 1961) is an American screen composer, orchestrator and multi-instrumentalist. 1980s As a session musician, writer and arranger, McEvoy worked on various projects with the producer Adam Kidron, including albums by Delta 5, Orange Juice, Scritti Politti and Ian Dury. Rosko Gee is a Jamaican bassist, who has played with the English band Traffic on their album '' When the Eagle Flies'' (1974); with Go featuring Stomu Yamashta, Steve Winwood, Michael Shrieve, Klaus Schulze and Al Di Meola; and with the German band Can, along with former Traffic percussionist Rebop Kwaku Baah, appearing on the albums ''Saw Delight'', '' Out of Reach'' and '' Can''. Barry Beckett
Barry Edward Beckett (February 4, 1943 – June 10, 2009) was an American keyboardist, session musician, record producer, and studio founder. He is best known for his work with David Hood, Jimmy Johnson, and Roger Hawkins, his bandmates in the Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section, which performed with numerous notable artists on their studio albums and helped define the "Muscle Shoals sound". Among the artists Beckett recorded with were Bob Dylan, Boz Scaggs, Paul Simon, Rod Stewart, Duane Allman, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes, Dire Straits, the Proclaimers and Phish. David Hood (born September 21, 1943) is an American musician, hailing from Muscle Shoals, Alabama, He is known for playing the bass guitar and trombone, and is a member of the Alabama Music Hall of Fame. Early life and education Hood was born in Sheffield, Alabama and attended the University of North Alabama. Career Hood started his career playing with the Mystics and as a backup musician at FAME Studios. He went on to co-found Muscle Shoals Sound Studio, where he produced songs for Willie Nelson, Cher and others. Roger G. Hawkins (October 16, 1945 – May 20, 2021) was an American drummer best known for playing as part of the studio backing band known as the Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section (also known as the Swampers) of Alabama. ''Rolling Stone'' ranked Hawkins number 31 on its list of greatest drummers. Jim Gordon (musician)
James Beck Gordon (July 14, 1945 – March 13, 2023) was an American musician, songwriter and convicted murderer. Gordon was a session drummer in the late 1960s and 1970s and played drums in the blues rock supergroup Derek and the Dominos. In 1983, in a psychotic episode associated with undiagnosed schizophrenia, Gordon murdered his mother and was sentenced to 16 years to life in prison, remaining incarcerated until his death in 2023. Music career Gordon was raised in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles and attended Grant High School. He passed up a music scholarship to UCLA in order to begin his professional career in 1963, at age 17, backing the Everly Brothers. He went on to become one of the most sought-after recording session drummers in Los Angeles.
