Tracedawn is a Finnish melodic death metal band created in 2005 by guitarist/vocalist Tuomas Yli-Jaskari.. Retrieved on 2012-03-17 Biography In 2005, Tuomas Yli-Jaskari created a project that would be named "Moravia" and eventually Tracedawn. He started by creating the instrumental version of a song that would eventually become ''Without Walls'' (from their self-titled debut album). He then found five other members and together they recorded a well-received demo album entitled ''Path of Reality''. In late 2007, they signed a contract with Redhouse Finland Music Publishing, after which they released a four-song EP. They then released their self-titled debut album in 2008. The following year, their second album, ''Ego Anthem'', was released, along with a single entitled ''In Your Name''. Ensiferum
Ensiferum (Latin: , n adj., meaning "sword bearing") is a Finnish folk metal band from Helsinki. The members of the band label themselves as "melodic folk metal". History Formation, demos and ''Ensiferum'' (1995−2002) ''Ensiferum'' was founded in 1995 by Markus Toivonen (guitar), Sauli Savolainen (bass) and Kimmo Miettinen (drums). In the next year, Jari Mäenpää was taken into the band as singer and second guitar-player. In 1997, the first demo was released, containing three songs. Melodic death metal (also referred to as melodeath) is a subgenre of death metal that employs highly melodic guitar riffs, often borrowing from traditional heavy metal (including New Wave of British Heavy Metal). The genre features the heaviness of death metal but with highly melodic or harmonized guitar riffs and solos, and often features high-pitched shrieked vocals (differing from traditional death metal) alongside the low-pitched growls commonly featured in traditional death metal. Stratovarius
Stratovarius is a Finnish power metal band. Formed in 1984, they have released sixteen studio albums, six DVDs and six live albums. The band's line-up has changed many times, with no founding member left since the departure of drummer Tuomo Lassila in 1995, and no member from their early recording days left following guitarist Timo Tolkki's departure in 2008. Currently, the longest standing member is singer Timo Kotipelto, who joined in 1994. The band was founded in August 1984 as Black Water, consisting of Lassila as singer and drummer, guitarist Staffan Stråhlman, bassist John Vihervä, and, later, keyboardist Antti Ikonen. Amoral (band)
Amoral was a Finnish Heavy metal music, heavy metal band from Helsinki, formed in 1997. They released seven studio albums between 2004 and 2016. The band's fourth album, ''Show Your Colors'', was an about-turn, replacing the dominance of death metal with Progressive metal, progressive, technical and melodic metal and the occasional sing-along chorus. Amoral performed extensively in bars, clubs, festivals and other venues in Finland, Europe, Japan, China, Philippines and the US. The band split up in 2017 after 20 years together. History Early times Amoral was formed in 1997 by two teenagers, Ben Varon and Juhana Karlsson. Silver Ots joined soon after.
