Toronto Global Forum
The Toronto Global Forum (TGF) is an annual economic event organized by the International Economic Forum of the Americas since 2007. Mission The Toronto Global Forum is a not-for-profit organization presenting annual conferences on national and global economic issues. The TGF mission is to promote open debate and dialogues on national and international issues. Each year, the event welcomes heads of state, Fortune 500 CEOs, international organizations, central bank governors, global economic decision makers and civil society representatives, etc. to foster free discussion between world leaders. The forum brings together more than 2,800 people from across the globe every year. The forum also provide a platform to facilitate meetings between key world leaders in order to encourage global discourse. Dominic Barton (born 1962), known as Bao Damin ( zh, 鲍达民) in China, is a Ugandan-born Canadian business executive, author, and diplomat. He is the current chairman of the private investment firm LeapFrog Investments as well as the chancellor of the University of Waterloo. He served as the Canadian Ambassador to the People's Republic of China from 2019-2021. Alan Greenspan (born March 6, 1926) is an American economist who served as the 13th chairman of the Federal Reserve from 1987 to 2006. He works as a private adviser and provides consulting for firms through his company, Greenspan Associates LLC. First nominated to the Federal Reserve by President Ronald Reagan in August 1987, he was reappointed at successive four-year intervals until retiring on January 31, 2006, after the second-longest tenure in the position, behind only William McChesney Martin. World Energy Council
The World Energy Council is a global forum for thought-leadership and tangible engagement with headquarters in London. Its mission is 'To promote the sustainable supply and use of energy for the greatest benefit of all people'. The idea for the foundation of the Council came from Daniel Nicol Dunlop in the 1920s. He wanted to gather experts from all around the world to discuss current and future energy issues. He organised in 1923 first national committees, which organised the first ''World Power Conference'' (WPC) in 1924. 1,700 experts from 40 countries met in London to discuss energy issues.
