Torgeir Børven
Torgeir Børven (born 3 December 1991) is a Norwegian professional footballer who plays as a striker for Norwegian club Vålerenga. He has previously played for FC Twente, Brann, Vålerenga, Odd and Rosenborg, and has represented his country at under-21 level. Club career Børven was born in Øystese, where he also grew up but moved to Skien in 2007 to begin at elite sports high school in Telemark and play for Odd Grenland, which has a partnership with the school. He distinguished himself as a prolific goalscorer, and scored eight goals in one reserve match. Børven got his first-team debut and scored his first goal against Vestfossen in the 2009 Norwegian Football Cup. Børven made his league debut away to against Brann on 28 September 2009, where he scored one goal and had one assist. Torgeir Brandtzæg
Torgeir Torbjørn Brandtzæg (born 6 October 1941) is a retired Norwegian ski jumper who won bronze medals both in the large hill and normal hill at the 1964 Winter Olympics. Brandtzæg placed fifth in the Four Hills Tournament in 1963; he won it in 1965, placing first in three out of four events. He also held the national jumping titles in 1963–1965. In 1965, while competing in Finland, he broke his leg in three places and was forced to retire. After that he married and became a farmer in Sparbu. Torgeir Anderssen-Rysst (9 August 1888 – 1958) was a Norwegian politician for the Liberal Party. Torgeir Anderssen-Rysst was born at Ålesund in Møre og Romsdal, Norway. A lawyer by profession, he worked as editor of '' Sunnmørsposten'' from 1918 to 1928, and again in 1931 and 1934. He served as Minister of Defence in the second government of Johan Mowinckel 1928–1931. Anderssen-Rysst later worked as a tax collector in Ålesund, and served as ambassador to Iceland, remaining in that post until his death. Torgeir Eikstad Micaelsen (born 20 May 1979 in Bergen) is a Norwegian politician for the Labour Party. He was elected to the Norwegian Parliament from Buskerud in 2005. He had previously served as a deputy representative during the term 2001–2005. Micaelsen made it to some fame as "the man who got slapped by Martin Schanche". Torgeir Trældal (born 1965) is a Norwegian politician and member of parliament from representing Nordland for the Progress Party. Trældal is from Narvik and served in the city council as leader of the opposition in that town until his election to parliament. In 2006, Trældal was sued by the against leaders in Narvik Energi for alleged slanderous statements about economic misconduct in the energy company. Although he was convicted in the trial court, the Court of appeal ruled in Trældal's favor, and the Supreme Court turned down the energy company's appeal. The Progress Party nominated Trældal as their third candidate from Nordland in the 2009 election. During the election Trældal campaigned on improving the municipality finances, building the Hålogaland Bridge without toll stations, and permitting oil activity in Lofoten and Vesterålen. Torgeir Bryn (pronounced ; born 19 August 1964) is a Norwegian former professional basketball player. A 6'9" (2.06 m) and 250 lb (113 kg) center born in Oslo, Bryn is notable for being the only Norwegian who has played in the NBA thus far. Club career United States In the U.S., Bryn attended MiraCosta Community College (Oceanside, California) and then Southwest Texas State University ( San Marcos, Texas), where he played NCAA college basketball. At MiraCosta College Bryn played for Clete Adelman, older brother of NBA coach Rick Adelman. He enjoyed a very brief NBA career during the 1989–90 season; his stint for the Los Angeles Clippers limited to playing ten minutes over three matches in which he scored four points. Torgeir Bjarmann (born 24 June 1968) is a former Norwegian football defender. Playing career Bjarmann played for Lillestrøm SK throughout his professional career, except for a short loan period in Austrian football when he teamed up alongside compatriot Geir Frigård. His 306 Norwegian Premier League matches is a Lillestrøm club record; so are his 564 games in all competitions. He was never capped for Norway. Bjarmann was a rough but fair centre back. He won the Kniksen award as defender of the year in 2001. Bjarmann retired after the 2003 season, but made some appearances in the lower leagues, mostly for the B and C teams of Lillestrøm SK. Torgeir T. Garmo (born 13 March 1941) is a Norwegian hotelier, rock collector, non-fiction writer and politician for the Centre and Liberal parties. Garmo was a member of Lom municipal council for the Centre Party. In 1979, he quit his membership together with mayor Kristen Brandsar. Ahead of the 1981 Norwegian parliamentary election, the Centre and Liberal parties decided to contest the election through a common list. While each party fielded their independent ballots, one candidate could become a deputy for another party's candidate.
