Torgeir Bjørn
Torgeir Bjørn (born 9 March 1964) is a retired Norway, Norwegian cross-country skiing (sport), cross-country skier. He represented Alvdal IL. He is a son of Kristian Bjørn. He finished eleventh in the Cross-country skiing at the 1988 Winter Olympics - Men's 50 km, 50 km race at the 1988 Winter Olympics. He also had top-ten finishes in the World Cup. He later became known as a sports commentator for the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation. Alvdal is a municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. It is located in the traditional district of Østerdalen. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Alvdal. Other villages include Barkald, Plassmoen, and Strømmen. Arild Monsen
Arild Monsen (born 5 April 1962) is a former Norwegian cross-country skier who competed at international level from 1982 to 1989. He won the 4 × 10 km gold at the 1985 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships The FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 1985 took place January 16–27, 1985 in Seefeld, Austria (near Innsbruck). This was the fourth time the Innsbruck area hosted these championships, having done so in 1933, the 1964 Winter Olympics, and the 19 ... in Seefeld and finished seventh in the 15 km event at same championship. Monsen's best individual career was fourth twice, reaching that mark once in 1983 and another time in 1984. Holmenkollen National Arena () is a Nordic skiing, ski jumping and biathlon sports venue, venue located at Holmenkollen in Oslo, Norway. Vegard Ulvang
Vegard Ulvang (born 10 October 1963) is a retired Norwegian cross-country skier who won three Olympic gold medals, two silver, and one bronze. At the opening ceremony of the 1994 Winter Olympic Games, he took the ceremonial Olympic Oath on part of all the athletes. In addition to his Olympic achievements, he received the Holmenkollen medal in 1991 (shared with Trond Einar Elden, Ernst Vettori, and Jens Weißflog), and won the World Cup in 1990. He has also won nine gold, six silver, and two bronze medals in the Norwegian Championships. He earned nine World Cup race victories. Ulvang also won the 50 km at the Holmenkollen ski festival in 1989, 1991 and 1992. After retiring from professional skiing, he started his own clothing line. Pål Gunnar Mikkelsplass (born 29 April 1961) is a Norwegian former cross-country skier who competed from 1981 to 1997. He won the 15 km silver at the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary. Bjørn Dæhlie
Bjørn Erlend Dæhlie (born 19 June 1967) is a Norwegian businessman and retired cross-country skier. From 1992 to 1999, Dæhlie won the Nordic World Cup six times, finishing second in 1994 and 1998. Dæhlie won a total of 29 medals in the Olympics and World Championships between 1991 and 1999, making him the most successful male cross-country skier in history. During his career, Dæhlie measured a VO2 max of 96 ml/kg/min. Dæhlie's result was achieved out of season, and physiologist Erlend Hem who was responsible for the testing stated that he would not discount the possibility of the skier passing 100 ml/kg/min at his absolute peak. Lugnet, Falun
Lugnet is a large sport complex located in Falun, Sweden. 58 of the Swedish Sports Confederation's 67 special sports can be practiced there. There are six full sized indoor pitches in the area where everything from dance to association football can be played or performed.
