Tony Le-Nguyen
Tony Le Nguyen is a Vietnamese-Australian actor, film-maker and teacher. Le-Nguyen is perhaps best known for his role as Tiger in the 1992 Australian drama film ''Romper Stomper''. Early life Le Nguyen was born in as Lê Thiện ToànSa Đéc, Mekong Delta, Vietnam on 3 October 1968. In 1978, Le-Nguyen and his family migrated from Vietnam to Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, as refugees, when he was ten years old. In 1985 he changed his name to Tony Lee as he began working as an actor. Career Le Nguyen is the first Vietnamese-Australian to be appointed as an Official Prison Visitor to Port Phillip and Fulham Correctional Centres by the Minister for Corrections, the Honourable Andre Haermeyer in 2003 to act as an independent voice for the prison system in Victoria. Sa Đéc is a Provincial city (Vietnam), Provincial city in Đồng Tháp Province in the Mekong Delta of southern Vietnam. It is a river port and agricultural and industrial trading center. Urban Theatre Projects (Utp), previously known as Death Defying Theatre (DDT), is a theatre company based in Bankstown Sydney, Australia. Early history 1979–1989 The organisation started as a street theatre company in 1979 by graduates of the University of New South Wales. The project was founded by Paul Brown, Alice Spizzo, Christine Sammers, and Kim Spinks. Initially, their office was located in the Village Church Centre (VCC) in the Paddington area of the Eastern Suburbs. The company mostly rehearsed outdoors in the nearby Centennial Park. Sidney Myer (born Simcha Myer Baevski (, ); 8 February 18785 September 1934) was a Belarusian-born Australian businessman and philanthropist, best known for founding Myer, Australia's largest chain of department stores. Handspan Theatre was a Melbourne-based puppetry and visual theatre company that operated between 1977 and 2002.
