This was their first release with a new lineup, with Tony Choy replacing Martin van Drunen on bass, while guitarist Patrick Mameli filled in for the latter on vocals. Style According to Ultimate Guitar senior editor David Slavković, the album is "one of the first examples of experimentation in [death metal]," incorporating Progressive rock, progressive elements and "slowly drifting away towards jazz fusion". Death Metal Musicians
Death is the end of life; the irreversible cessation of all biological functions that sustain a living organism. Death eventually and inevitably occurs in all organisms. The remains of a former organism normally begin to decompose shortly after death. Some organisms, such as '' Turritopsis dohrnii'', are biologically immortal; however, they can still die from means other than aging. Death is generally applied to whole organisms; the equivalent for individual components of an organism, such as cells or tissues, is necrosis. Something that is not considered an organism, such as a virus, can be physically destroyed but is not said ''to die'', as a virus is not considered alive in the first place. As of the early 21st century, 56 million people die per year. The most common reason is aging, followed by cardiovascular disease, which is a disease that affects the heart or blood vessels. As of 2022, an estimated total of almost 110 billion humans have died, or roughly 94% o ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

Resurrection Macabre
''Resurrection Macabre'' is the fifth studio album by Dutch death metal band Pestilence, which was released on 16 March 2009. It is the band's first album of original material in 16 years, since 1993's ''Spheres'' and this fact is referenced in the album's title; hence ''resurrection''. Re-recordings of earlier Pestilence songs make appearances as bonus tracks on the record. Background Pestilence were broken up between 1994 and early 2008. In January 2008, frontman Patrick Mameli revealed to Blabbermouth.net that the band was planning on making a return because "people/fans keep asking me for this. The time is right now and Mascot is giving me the opportunity to do so. As you know, I have always been the driving force behind Pestilence, writing all the music and so forth, so that I can state: I will bring back Pestilence to life. More tech and way more brutal than ever before." In October 2008, Mameli revealed to UK's ''Terrorizer'' magazine that Pestilence would enter a stu ...
