"Tonite" (stylized as "tonite" on digital releases) is a song by American rock band LCD Soundsystem. It was released as the second single from their fourth studio album, '' American Dream'' (2017), on August 16, 2017, through DFA Records and Columbia Records. A music video for the song was also premiered on the same day. The song peaked at number 191 in France and number 33 on the ''Billboard'' Dance/Electronic Songs chart. At the 60th Annual Grammy Awards, the song won the award for Best Dance Recording, making it the band's first Grammy win. Production and composition "Tonite" was written by band members Al Doyle and James Murphy, who jointly performed all the instruments for the song. Doyle performed guitar, keyboards, electronic drums, and was the vocoder controller. LCD Soundsystem is an American rock band from Brooklyn, New York, formed in 2002 by James Murphy, co-founder of DFA Records. EMS Synthi AKS
The EMS Synthi A and the EMS Synthi AKS, is a portable modular analog synthesiser made by EMS of England. The Synthi A model debuted in May 1971, and then Sythni AKS model appeared in March 1972 a with a built-in keyboard and sequencer. The EMS Sythi models are notable for its patch pin matrix, its functions and internal design are similar to the VCS 3 synthesiser, also made by EMS. EMS is still run by Robin Wood in Cornwall, and in addition to continuing to build and sell new units, the company repairs and refurbishes EMS equipment. When launched in 1972, the Synthi AKS retailed for around £450. The Roland Jupiter-4 (JP-4) was an analog synthesizer manufactured by the Roland Corporation between 1978 and 1981. It was notable as the company's first self-contained polyphonic synthesizer, and for employing digital control of analog circuits (termed ''compuphonic'' by Roland), allowing for such features as programmable memory, voice assignment modes, an arpeggiator, polyphonic portamento and others. Brooklyn Steel is an 1800-capacity music venue in Brooklyn, New York, United States. In 2018 Brooklyn Steel was named one of the 10 best live music venues in America by Rolling Stone Magazine. Construction for the venue began in July 2016, and it opened on April 6, 2017, with a five-night run of sold-out concerts by American rock band LCD Soundsystem. The venue contains a main floor, a balcony, forty restrooms, and three bars. The name of the venue was inspired by the fact that the building was originally used as a steel manufacturing plant.
