Tom Wilkinson (Canadian Football)
Tom Wilkinson (born January 4, 1943) is an American former professional football quarterback best known for his time with the Edmonton Eskimos of the Canadian Football League, where he played on six Grey Cup-winning teams. He was a Western Conference and CFL all-star quarterback in 1974, 1978 and 1979 and won the CFL's Most Outstanding Player Award in 1974. Wilkinson has been inducted into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame. Early life Wilkinson was born in Iowa and moved to Wyoming with his parents in 1945. Wilkinson played high school football in the small town of Greybull, Wyoming. He was scouted as both a football and baseball player out of high school. CHQT
CHQT was an AM broadcasting, AM radio station in Edmonton, Edmonton, Alberta. Owned by Corus Entertainment, the station first launched in August 1965. In June 2008, after having broadcast various music-based formats, CHQT flipped to an All-news radio, all-news format as a counterpart to sister news/talk station CHED (AM), CHED. In June 2024, CHQT was closed by owner Corus Entertainment as a part of company-wide cuts, and began to simulcast CHED for a transitional period. Harold Warren Moon (born November 18, 1956) is an American former professional Gridiron football, football player who was a quarterback for 23 seasons in the National Football League (NFL) and Canadian Football League (CFL). He spent most of his career with the NFL's Houston Oilers and the CFL's Edmonton Elks, Edmonton Eskimos. Moon also played in the NFL for the Minnesota Vikings, Seattle Seahawks, and Kansas City Chiefs. He is considered one of the greatest undrafted players in NFL history. Bruce Lemmerman (born October 4, 1945) is an American former professional football player. Football career After a star career at San Fernando Valley State College, where he led the Matadors to their first winning season and the Junior Rose Bowl in 1967, Lemmerman became a backup quarterback for the Atlanta Falcons in 1968 and 1969. He later played ten years in the Canadian Football League (CFL) for the Edmonton Eskimos. After his retirement from a playing career in football, Lemmerman became an assistant coach for the Eskimos, the Los Angeles Express of the United States Football League (USFL) and the NFL's Houston Oilers. Don Jonas
Donald Walter Jonas (born December 3, 1938) is an American former football player and coach. Jonas played professionally as a quarterback in the Canadian Football League (CFL). He was also the first head coach of the UCF Knights (1979–1981). Playing career College football Jonas played college football at Penn State University. His first season was 1958, and he did not play (was red-shirted) in 1959. In 1960, as a running back, he ran 49 times for 238 yards (4.9 yard average) and two touchdowns. He also caught six passes, completed 3 of 7 passes, intercepted three opponent passes and returned seven punts. In 1961, he gained 149 yards in 31 attempts (4.8 average) and caught five passes, scoring two touchdowns. He also returned punts and kickoffs. The Toronto Rifles were a minor-league professional American football team active between 1964 and 1967. It was based in Toronto, Ontario. Canadian Football Hall Of Fame
The Canadian Football Hall of Fame (CFHOF) is a not-for-profit corporation, located in Hamilton, Ontario, that celebrates achievements in Canadian football. It is maintained by the Canadian Football League (CFL). It includes displays about the CFL, Canadian Interuniversity Sport football, Canadian university football and Canadian Junior Football League, Canadian junior football history. The Hall previously had a main feature in the central portion of the museum where the metal busts of inducted members were displayed prior to the physical building being closed.
