Tom Whittaker (rugby Union)
Tom Whittaker (born 18 September 1986 in Beverley, Humberside) is a rugby union footballer for Leeds Tykes. His usual position is at full-back. Whittaker made his Leeds Tykes debut as a substitute in the 30–18 win over Doncaster Knights at Headingley Carnegie Stadium. He set up Leigh Hinton for the Tykes' third try. Whittaker attended Beverley Grammar School, then Hymers College in Hull along with fellow Tykes Rob Vickerman, Tom Biggs and Adam Greendale. Beverley
Beverley is a market town and civil parish in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England. It is located north-west of Hull city centre. At the 2021 census the built-up area of the town had a population of 30,930, and the smaller civil parish had a population of 18,014. It is the county town of the East Riding of Yorkshire. The town was founded in the seventh century by John of Beverley, who established a church in the area. It was originally named ''Inderawuda'', and was part of the Anglian kingdom of Northumbria. The town came under Viking control in the 850s, then became part of the Kingdom of England. Leeds Beckett University (LBU), formerly known as Leeds Metropolitan University (LMU) and before that as Leeds Polytechnic, is a public university in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. Richard Vasey (born 1985) is an English rugby union player, currently playing at Fly-half for Caldy in National League 2 North. A talented player who has experience of playing at a higher level with clubs such as Leeds Carnegie and Moseley, Vasey is a reliable points kicker who has become one of the most prolific in National League 2 North history with over 1,400 points for Caldy. The Yorkshire Cup is an English Rugby Football Union competition founded in 1878. It is organised by the Yorkshire Rugby Football Union and is open to all eligible clubs in the Yorkshire area. Beverley Rugby Football Club is an English rugby union team based in Beverley, East Riding of Yorkshire. The club runs two senior men's sides, Colts, Ladies and a full set of junior teams. The first XV currently plays in Counties 1 Yorkshire. History Beverley RUFC was originally founded in 1883, had a stint a Longcroft Old Boys before reassuming the club's current name in 1965. The club has played in both the North East and Yorkshire divisions of the club rugby union hierarchy.
