Tom Gilroy
Tom Gilroy is an American director, writer, actor, producer, playwright, poet, musician, and teacher. Gilroy has written, directed and produced five films, including the award-winning short ''Touch Base'' and the critically acclaimed feature ''Spring Forward.'' He has appeared in over 20 television shows and 30 films''.'' With his theatre company Machine Full, Gilroy has produced over a dozen critically acclaimed productions, most recently the multi-media production of ''Hamlet'' for the New Jersey Shakespeare Festival. Haiku
is a type of short form poetry originally from Japan. Traditional Japanese haiku consist of three phrases that contain a ''kireji'', or "cutting word", 17 ''On (Japanese prosody), on'' (phonetic units similar to syllables) in a 5, 7, 5 pattern, and a ''kigo'', or seasonal reference. Similar poems that do not adhere to these rules are generally classified as ''senryū''. Haiku originated as an opening part of a larger Japanese poem called renga.
