S. Thirunavukarasu (born 21 July 1966), better known mononymously as Tirru, is an Indian cinematographer and screenwriter who has worked in multiple languages across India. Born in Mullukuruchi village, Tirru became interested in photography when he was in college. He gained recognition through collaborations with Kamal Haasan, contributing pioneering techniques in Indian cinema. His cinematography on ''24'' (2016), won the National Film Award for Best Cinematography. Personal life Tirru was born on 21 July 1966 in Mullukuruchi village, Namakkal. ''Mercury'' is a 2018 Indian horror thriller film that was written and directed by Karthik Subbaraj. The film, which has no dialogue, stars an ensemble cast that includes Prabhu Deva, Sananth, Remya Nambeesan, Indhuja Ravichandran, Deepak Paramesh, Shashank Purushotham, and Anish Padmanabhan. Subbaraj presented the film under his own production banner Stone Bench Creations, whilst Jayantilal Gada of Pen Studios co-produced the film. ''24'' is a 2016 Indian Tamil-language science fiction action film written and directed by Vikram Kumar. It is produced by Suriya under 2D Entertainment.
