Tipton Town Football Club is a football club based in Tipton, West Midlands, England. They are currently members of the and play at the Tipton Sports Academy. History The club was established in 1948 as Ocker Hill United.Club History Tipton Town F.C. They joined the Wolverhampton and District Amateur League, before also entering the Handsworth League and the Wednesbury League. Tipton Sports Academy
Tipton Sports Academy is a multi-purpose sports stadium located on Wednesbury Oak Road in Tipton, West Midlands (region), West Midlands, England. It includes a running track, a football pitch and indoor tennis courts. The synthetic running track was laid out in 1998 to replace a cinder track. This work was completed at the same time as the indoor tennis courts, and the full cost of upgrading the complex (more than £3million) was paid by the National Lottery (United Kingdom), National Lottery. It was opened by the then Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott at an official ceremony on 12 June 1998. Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, had opened the headquarters of Tipton Sports Union Trust at the site on 4 June 1971. These facilities were replaced by those opened by John Prescott, 27 years later. Midland Football Combination
The Midland Football Combination was an English association football, football league covering parts of the West Midlands (region), West Midlands. It comprised five divisions, a Premier Division, Divisions One and Two and two Reserves Divisions. The league was one of three official feeder leagues to the Midland Football Alliance. Prior to 2006, the Premier Division was defined as step 7 in the National League System, even though it fed into the step 5 Midland Alliance. In 2006, it was re-graded as step 6, making teams in the top two divisions eligible to take part in the FA Vase and teams in the top division eligible to enter the FA Cup. Tipton is an industrial town in the metropolitan borough of Sandwell, in the county of the West Midlands, England. It had a population of 38,777 at the 2011 UK Census. It is located northwest of Birmingham and southeast of Wolverhampton. It is also contiguous with nearby towns of Darlaston, Dudley, Wednesbury and Bilston. Historically within Staffordshire and briefly Worcestershire. It is located between both Wolverhampton and Birmingham. It incorporates the surrounding villages and suburbs of Tipton Green, Ocker Hill, Dudley Port, Horseley Heath and Great Bridge. Tipton was an urban district until 1938, when it became a municipal borough. Much of the Borough of Tipton was transferred into West Bromwich County Borough in 1966, but parts of the old borough were absorbed into an expanded Dudley borough and the newly created County Borough of Warley.
