Timrå Isstadion
Timrå Isstadion, currently known as SCA Arena and formerly known as NHC Arena, NHK Arena, E.ON Arena, Sydkraft Arena for sponsorship reasons, is an indoor sporting arena located in Timrå, Västernorrland County, Sweden. Construction began in 1964 and was inaugurated on 4 September 1966. Since then the venue has undergone several renovations and expansions. It is home arena of the SHL ice hockey team Timrå IK. Current capacity is 6,000. History The current building was constructed in 2003 on the grounds of, and re-using the roof from the old Timrå Isstadion. This predecessor dates back to 1966 and was inaugurated September 4, the same year, as the eighth ice hockey venue in Sweden. The old arena underwent a heavy refresh for the 1994/1995 season, resulting in a capacity of 5,500. Timrå Municipality () is a municipality in Västernorrland County, Sweden. The town of Timrå is the municipal seat. The rural municipality ''Timrå'' was made a market town (''köping'') in 1947. The present municipality was created in 1971 when Timrå was amalgamated with ''Hässjö''. Geography Timrå is located in a terrain of forest and hills. Traditionally the industry has been dominated by forestry. The timber was transported through the rivers and streams to their destination, most often to sawmills. Rögle BK (Rögle Bandyklubb) is a Swedish professional ice hockey club from Ängelholm that has been playing in the SHL since the 2015–16 season. Rögle has previously played in the SHL (previously named Elitserien) in 1992–1996, 2008–2010, and briefly in 2012–13. They won the Champions Hockey League in 2022. Swedish Ice Hockey Association
The Swedish Ice Hockey Association () in Swedish, is an association of Swedish ice hockey clubs. It was established in Stockholm on 17 November 1922 by representatives from seven clubs. Before then, organized ice hockey in Sweden had been administered by the Swedish Football Association. In 1920, Sweden became a member of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). In addition to ice hockey, SIF is also responsible for inline hockey. The association's general secretary is Tommy Boustedt. Jan Lennart "Lill-Strimma" Svedberg (29 February 1944 – 29 July 1972) was a Swedish ice hockey defenceman. He played for Timrå IK and Brynäs IF. He also played on the Swedish national team during six IIHF World Championships and the 1968 Winter Olympics. Svedberg was named best defenceman at the 1970 World Championships. A jumbotron, sometimes referred to as jumbovision, is a video display using large-screen television technology (video wall). The original technology was developed in the early 1980s by Mitsubishi Electric and Sony, which coined JumboTron as a brand name in 1985. Medelpad ( or ) is a historical province or ''landskap'' in the north of Sweden. It borders Hälsingland, Härjedalen, Jämtland, Ångermanland and the Gulf of Bothnia. The province is a part of Norrland and as such considered to be Northern Sweden, although the province geographically is located in the middle of Sweden. It is a common misconception that the name ''Medelpad'' ("middle land" or "middle ground") reflects this, but the name actually refers to the fact that most of the province lies between its two rivers Ljungan and Indalsälven.
