Thoralf Evje
Thoralf Johannes Irgens Evje (8 December 1902 – 4 September 1976) was a Norwegian judge, civil servant and politician for the Labour Party. He was born in Vestre Aker to priest Hans Odén Evje and Anna Sofie Elle, finished his secondary education in 1922 and graduated as cand.jur. in 1926. He served as State Conciliator of Norway from 1954 to 1964. From 1965 to 1970 he was appointed stipendiary magistrate of Oslo. His published works include (jointly with Paal Berg) ''Kommentar til Arbeidstvistloven'' and ''Tjenestetvistloven''. During the German occupation of Norway, Evje was incarcerated by the occupants, at Bredtvedt, Møllergata 19 and Grini, and sent to the Sachsenhausen concentration camp in July 1943. After six years in Notodden Evje settled in Bærum in 1935 and represented the Labour Party in Bærum School Board from 1939 to 1954 and Bærum municipal council from 1946 to 1952. Vestre Aker
Vestre Aker (Western Aker) is a List of boroughs of Oslo, borough of the city of Oslo, Norway. It has a population of 50,157 as of 2020. The previous Aker Municipality was merged into the city of Oslo in 1948. The borough of Vestre Aker was organized as part of the 1 January 2004 reform. Previous boroughs Vinderen and Røa became part of the new borough of Vestre Aker. Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp Survivors
Sachsenhausen () or Sachsenhausen-Oranienburg was a German Nazi concentration camp in Oranienburg, Germany, used from 1936 until April 1945, shortly before the defeat of Nazi Germany in May later that year. It mainly held political prisoners throughout World War II. Prominent prisoners included Joseph Stalin's oldest son, Yakov Dzhugashvili; assassin Herschel Grynszpan; Paul Reynaud, the penultimate prime minister of the French Third Republic; Francisco Largo Caballero, prime minister of the Second Spanish Republic during the Spanish Civil War; the wife and children of the crown prince of Bavaria; Ukrainian nationalist leader Stepan Bandera; and several enemy soldiers and political dissidents. Preben Munthe
Preben Hempel Munthe (15 October 1922 – 3 January 2013) was a Norwegian economist. He was born in Aker, the son of librarian Wilhelm Munthe (1883–1965) and his wife Jenny Hempel (1882–1975). Gerhard Munthe was his elder brother. The younger Munthe finished his secondary education in 1941, and graduated from the University of Oslo with the cand.oecon. degree five years later. He was employed as a research fellow at the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration in the following year, and was promoted to docent in 1956. He took his doctorate in 1961, and was a professor at the University of Oslo from 1961 to 1992. Parallel to this he served as the State Conciliator of Norway from 1965 to 1974. Henrik Lundh
Henrik Julius Lundh (16 April 1894 – February 1985) was a Norwegian civil servant. He was born in Oslo, Kristiania as a son of Ragnar Lundh (1863–1924) and Aggie Olsen (1875–1946). From 1919 he was married to Ragnhild Tandberg, but she died in 1922. From 1924 he was married to Elise Caroline Aubert (1898–1972). He finished his secondary education in 1911, and enrolled in law studies. He was a journalist while studying. He graduated from the University of Oslo with the cand.jur. degree in 1916, and worked as a deputy judge, junior solicitor and from 1919 secretary in the Norwegian Ministry of Justice and the Police, Ministry of Justice and the Police. He took the dr.juris degree in 1929 and was promoted to assistant secretary in the Ministry of Justice and the Police in 1930. Leif Larsen (politician)
Leif Andreas Larsen (2 January 1898 – 29 April 1978) was a Norwegian telegrapher and politician for the Labour Party. He was born in Kristiania, and moved to Bærum in 1926. He had an education as a telegrapher, and also took the cand.jur. degree in 1924. He chaired of the Labour Party chapter in Bærum from 1930 to 1935, and was elected to serve in Bærum municipal council in 1932. During the occupation of Norway by Nazi Germany he was imprisoned in Bredtveit concentration camp from 30 March 1943, then in Berg concentration camp from 26 July 1944 to 26 March 1945. In May 1945, when Norway was liberated from the five-year-long German occupation, Larsen became deputy mayor of Bærum. After the 1945 Norwegian local elections he became mayor. He was the first mayor of Bærum to represent the Labour Party. He left the municipal council in 1951, but returned for the years 1956 to 1963, when he was again deputy mayor. is a municipality in Telemark county, Norway. It is located in the traditional district of Aust-Telemark. The administrative centre of the municipality is the town of Notodden.
