Thierry Jobin
Thierry Jobin (born 1969), is a Swiss film critic, journalist and the artistic director of the Fribourg International Film Festival (FIFF). Biography Thierry Jobin was 15 years old when he had his first opportunity to share his passion through journalism. He studied linguistic at the University of Fribourg from which he graduated in 1992. He wrote in numerous newspapers and medias such as '' Le Temps'' in Geneva (1998–2011). In 2012, he became artistic director of the Fribourg International Film Festival (FIFF). Thierry Jobin is expert for the Swiss fund Visions Sud Est and for Final Cut in Venice, the postproduction fund for Africa launched in 2013 by Venezia, Amiens and Fribourg. Fribourg International Film Festival
The Fribourg International Film Festival (FIFF) is an annual film festival in Fribourg, Switzerland. It is focused on selected films from Asia, Africa and Latin America. The Grand Prize is the main award of the Fribourg International Film Festival. The Festival FIFF aims to promote the understanding between the cultures and more particularly between the so-called North and South. It gives preference to films that stimulate reflection and provoke discussion. In 1980, Magda Bossy, working for the Swiss NGO Helvetas, organized an event in honour of the 25th anniversary of the French-speaking Swiss association. Convinced that film would be an excellent medium for expressing cultural richness, the Egyptian native thinks to open the floor to filmmakers from the South. University Of Fribourg
The University of Fribourg (french: Université de Fribourg; german: Universität Freiburg) is a public university located in Fribourg, Switzerland. The roots of the university can be traced back to 1580, when the notable Jesuit Peter Canisius founded the Collège Saint-Michel in the City of Fribourg. In 1763, an academy of law was founded by the state of Fribourg which formed the nucleus of the present Law Faculty. The University of Fribourg was finally created in 1889 by an Act of the parliament of the Swiss Canton of Fribourg. The University of Fribourg is Switzerland's only bilingual university and offers full curricula in both French and German, two of Switzerland's national languages.
