The Trouble With Miss Switch
''The Trouble with Miss Switch'' is a 1980 animated television special produced by Ruby-Spears Productions and based on the 1971 children's book of the same name by Barbara Brooks Wallace. It originally aired in two parts on '' ABC Weekend Special'' series on February 16 and 23, 1980. Following its initial broadcast, ''Miss Switch'' was frequently rerun and due to its popularity, a sequel called ''Miss Switch to the Rescue'' was also produced as an ''ABC Weekend Special'' in 1982. Synopsis Rupert Brown and Amelia Daley are classmates at Pepperdine Elementary School who discover that their substitute teacher, Miss Switch, is a witch complete with a magical talking Lykoi-Breed cat named Bathsheba. Charles August Nichols
Charles August "Nick" Nichols (September 15, 1910 – August 23, 1992) was an American animator and film director, who worked in animation for over 50 years at Walt Disney Animation Studios and Hanna-Barbera. At Disney, he worked on various short subjects and films from the 1940s into the 1950s, including the Academy Award-winning short ''Toot, Whistle, Plunk and Boom'' (1953). Nichols co-directed ''Charlotte's Web'' (1973) while at Hanna-Barbera. Biography Nichols was born in Milford, Utah. As an animator for Disney, his first credit was on the film ''Pinocchio'', where he was the lead animator for the villainous Coachman. During World War II, Nichols animated several short subjects, including ''First Aiders'' (1944) and numerous cartoons involving the character Pluto. Barbara Brooks Wallace (December 3, 1922 – November 27, 2018) was an American children's writer. She won the NLAPW Children's Book Award and International Youth Library "Best of the Best" for ''Claudia'' (2001) and William Allen White Children's Book Award for ''Peppermints in the Parlor'' (1983). Early life Wallace was born and spent her childhood in China, where she attended Shanghai American School, but came to live in the United States during high school. Larry Huber
Lawrence "Larry" Huber (born May 6, 1946) is an American television producer, writer, and animator who is known for his long history as a producer at Hanna-Barbera, Ruby-Spears, and Nickelodeon. Huber began his animation career in 1969 while working on Hanna-Barbera's ''The Perils of Penelope Pitstop''. He went on to work for Ruby-Spears for 15 years. Returning to Hanna-Barbera in 1990, Huber worked on ''2 Stupid Dogs'' and '' Fish Police''. He was hired by Buzz Potamkin to supervise production on Cartoon Network's '' World Premiere Toons'' in 1995. Huber left Hanna-Barbera in 1996 following the company's merger with Turner Broadcasting. Along with Bill Burnett, Huber co-created and executive produced an ''Oh Yeah! Cartoons'' pilot on Nickelodeon, which would later air as ''ChalkZone'' as a full series. Ron Campbell (animator)
Ron Campbell (26 December 1939 – 22 January 2021) was an Australian animator, director, and producer, best known for his work on the 1960s '' The Beatles'' television series, as well as the animated feature film '' Yellow Submarine''. Early career Ron Campbell's career began in 1958 animating various commercials for Australian television. However, when Al Brodax brought both his Krazy Kat and Beetle Bailey cartoons to Australia for production, Campbell was recruited to work on the project. After Krazy Kat, Campbell went on to direct many installments of '' The Beatles'' television series for King Features. The show debuted on 25 September 1965, and remained number one in the ratings for the duration of its four-year run. He later wrote the foreword to the book ''Beatletoons: The Real Story Behind The Cartoon Beatles'', where his involvement in the show is also talked about extensively. Mason Alan Dinehart Sr. (born Harold Alan Dinehart; October 3, 1889 – July 18, 1944) was an American actor, director, writer, and stage manager. Biography Dinehart initially studied to be a priest, but he turned to the theater instead. His first acting experience came at Missoula University in Montana. He was active in Vaudeville before moving into other areas of entertainment. He left school to appear on stage with a repertory company and had no screen experience when he signed a contract with Fox in May 1931. He became a character actor and supporting player in at least eighty-eight films between 1931 and 1944. Earlier, he appeared in more than twenty Broadway plays.
