Rose Windows was a seven-piece psychedelic rock band based in Seattle, Washington. ''The Sun Dogs'' Songwriter Chris Cheveyo assembled the band in Seattle's Central District in the fall of 2010. Rose Windows began making plans for their first album without being signed to any label yet. They sought out local producer Randall Dunn for his previous involvement the band Earth. Other local musicians were later brought on board to add harp, pedal steel, viola, and cello. Each issue includes opinion and commentary of the indie music scene as well as reviews of books, DVDs, and albums. The magazine posts web-exclusive interviews and reviews on its website. Earth is an American experimental rock band based in Olympia, Washington, formed in 1989 and led by the guitarist Dylan Carlson. Earth's music is nearly all instrumental, and can be divided into two distinct stages. Their early work is characterized by distortion, droning, minimalism, and lengthy, repetitive song structures. Owing to their 1993 debut album '' Earth 2'', Earth is recognized as a pioneer of drone metal. The band resurfaced in the early 2000s, with their later output reducing the distortion and incorporating elements of country, jazz rock, and folk. Randall Dunn is an American record producer, audio engineer, and musician. As a record producer, he has worked with musical acts such as Sunn O))), Six Organs of Admittance, Marissa Nadler, Wolves in the Throne Room, Boris, Anna Von Hausswolff, Akron/Family, Oren Ambarchi, Eyvind Kang, The Cave Singers, Earth, and Jesse Sykes, among others.
