The Silly Pillows
The Silly Pillows were an United States, American indie pop band formed by Jonathan Caws-Elwitt. They began as a home recording, home-recorded duo of Jonathan and his wife Hilary Caws-Elwitt, sharing tapes through the Cassette culture, cassette underground. In the 1990s the band evolved into a studio-recorded full lineup, which dissolved in 2000. From 2005 to 2008, Jonathan and Hilary revived their home-recording career as "The Original Silly Pillows." History In the early 1980s, Jonathan had been part of punk/psych/experimental group The Killer Asparagus (in the Boston area) and punk pop band The Degrads (in Rochester, New York, Rochester, NY, along with his brother Sam Elwitt). ''Queer Duck'' is an American animated web series produced by Icebox Animation (alongside Mondo Media) that originally appeared on the company's website, then later moved to the American cable network Showtime, where it aired following the American version of ''Queer as Folk''. Although far from featuring the first gay cartoon character, ''Queer Duck'' was among the first animated series to have homosexuality as its predominant theme. The Tables
The Tables was an underground/ DIY pop group formed in Oslo, Norway, in 1988. The three main musicians were Bartleby (vocals, real name Tore Sørensen), Robert Birdeye (bass guitar and drums, real name Steinar Buholm), and Reg Trademark (guitar, real name Ståle Caspersen). The band was connected to an earlier group called The Bottle Collectors. The Tables' original trio recorded their first 7-inch, ''Diary EP'', which was released on the new-founded Voices of Wonder label in 1988. Their first vinyl album was called ''Shady Whims & Obstacles''. Matthew Rorison Caws (born August 5, 1967) is an American singer, songwriter and guitarist. He is best known as the lead vocalist and guitarist of the alternative rock band Nada Surf. Caws is also a member of the indie rock duo Minor Alps, alongside Juliana Hatfield. Early life Caws was born in New York City, the son of Peter James Caws and Mary Ann Caws. Nada Surf is an American alternative rock band formed in New York City in 1992, consisting of Matthew Caws (guitar, vocals), Ira Elliot (drums), and Daniel Lorca (bass, backing vocals). After initially operating under the name Helicopter, Caws and Lorca switched to Nada Surf. Greasy Kid Stuff
''Greasy Kid Stuff'' was an American radio show that aired Saturday mornings from 9-10 AM (Pacific Time) on KXRY 91.1 FM and 107.1 FM, and live and archived at XRAY.FM out of Portland, Oregon. It was hosted by Belinda Miller, Hova Najarian, and their daughter Georgia, a/k/a "DJ Georgia" and f/k/a "DJ Waah Waah". The program was known for playing non-traditional and offbeat music from many genres that kids can appreciate, much of it rock 'n' roll that was not originally created with kids in mind. From 1994 to 2006 the show was on WFMU, the New York/New Jersey area freeform station.
