''The Seeds of Life'' () is a German silent drama film directed by Georg Jacoby and starring Emil Jannings, Hanna Ralph, and Hans Junkermann. It was released in three parts. The third part in the series was released as ''Moral und Sinnlichkeit''. It was made by the PAGU company at the Tempelhof Studios in Berlin. The film's sets were designed by the art director Kurt Richter. Georg Jacoby (23 July 1882 – 21 February 1964) was a German film director and screenwriter. , bfi.org.uk; accessed 11 December 2016. Biography Jacoby was born in Mainz, Germany, the son of Wilhelm Jacoby (1855–1925), a German comedic playwright, who concentrated largely on creating farces, such as ''The Duchess of Athens'' (1883) and ''Pension Schöller (play), Pension Schöller'' (1890), which he co-authored with Carl Laufs. Georg adapted ''Pension Schöller'' into film versions on no fewer than three occasions.
