The Republicans (Poland)
The Republicans () was a national-conservative political party in Poland, and political association. It was founded as an association in 2013, which was instrumental in the creation of Kukiz'15, which it joined in 2017. It was resurrected in June 2021 by a pro-Law and Justice and anti-Gowin faction of the Agreement party led by MEP Adam Bielan, who was joined by five of its 18 MPs. This was as a result of an internal split, whereby the newly formed party joined the United Right coalition in power as a full member, as the Gowin-loyalist remainder of the Agreement party left the coalition. Agreement (political Party)
The Agreement (), formally known as Jarosław Gowin's Agreement (), is a centre-right political party in Poland. It was founded in November 2017, led by the former Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Science and Higher Education Jarosław Gowin, as an expansion of Gowin's previous party, Poland Together, before changing its name. It was allied with the ruling party of Poland, Law and Justice (PiS), as part of the United Right until August 2021. Its current leader is Stanisław Derehajło. KORWiN
The New Hope ( , NN) is a right-wing to far-right political party in Poland and member of Confederation. As of 2024, it is led by Sławomir Mentzen. Founded in 2015 by Janusz Korwin-Mikke as a result of his removal from the Congress of the New Right, his former party, it was initially called Coalition for the Renewal of the Republic of Liberty and Hope () and then subsequently Confederation for the Renewal of the Republic of Liberty and Hope (), both backronym to KORWiN or sometimes shortened to Liberty (). Among the party's other members are Przemysław Wipler, who held a seat in the Polish Sejm, and Robert Iwaszkiewicz, Member of the European Parliament. The parliament of Poland is the bicameral legislature of Poland. It is composed of an upper house (the Senate) and a lower house (the Sejm). Both houses are accommodated in the Sejm and Senate Complex in Warsaw. The Constitution of Poland does not refer to the Parliament as a body, but only to the Sejm and Senate. Members of both houses are elected by direct election, usually every four years. The Sejm has 460 members, while the Senate has 100 senators. To become law, a bill must first be approved by both houses, but the Sejm can override a Senate refusal to pass a bill. 2023 Polish Parliamentary Election
Parliamentary elections were held in Poland on 15 October 2023 to elect members of the Sejm and Senate of Poland, Senate. A 2023 Polish referendum, referendum containing four questions concerning economic and immigration policy of the government was held simultaneously. In the previous 2019 Polish parliamentary election, the ruling right-wing Law and Justice (Poland), Law and Justice Party (PiS) had held onto its majority in the Sejm with Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki forming Second Cabinet of Mateusz Morawiecki, a second government.
