The Good Teacher
''The Good Teacher'' () is a 2024 Drama (film and television), drama film directed by Teddy Lussi-Modeste from a screenplay he co-wrote with Audrey Diwan inspired by a true story that happened to the director in 2020, starring François Civil as a high school teacher who is wrongfully accused of sexual harassment by one of his students, a teenage girl, and must fight to prove his innocence. The film is a co-production between France and Belgium and had its world premiere at the Ramdam Festival in Belgium on 18 January 2024. It was released theatrically in France by Ad Vitam (company), Ad Vitam on 27 March 2024, and in Belgium by Cinéart on 3 April 2024. Teddy Lussi-Modeste
Teddy Lussi-Modeste (born 25 March 1978) is a French Romani people in France, Romani film director, screenwriter and literature teacher. He wrote and directed the films ''Jimmy Rivière'' (2011), ''The Price of Success (2017 film), The Price of Success'' (2017), and ''The Good Teacher'' (2024). Early life Lussi-Modeste grew up in La Tronche, Grenoble, in a Sinti, Romani people in France, Manush Romani community in France. Career Lussi-Modeste studied cinema at the film school La Fémis in Paris. He later became a literature teacher in high schools and colleges, before devoting himself entirely to cinema in the late 2000s. Lussi-Modeste started his career as a film director in 2004 with the short film ''Kissing Tigers''. In 2011, he released his feature directorial debut, the drama ''Jimmy Rivière''.
