The Dream Synopsis
''The Dream Synopsis'' is an extended play by English supergroup the Last Shadow Puppets, released on 2 December 2016 by Domino Recording Company. It was produced by Patrick Higgins in Hudson, New York and contains re-recordings of two songs from the band's second album, ''Everything You've Come to Expect'', as well as four cover versions that the band played during their 2016 tour. The album artwork features a still picture of the band recording the music video for their cover of " Is This What You Wanted". It was the final release of the band's second period of activity. Background and recording ''The Dream Synopsis EP'' was recorded in one day at Future-Past Studios in August 2016. The songs featured on the release were recorded live in the studio. Release and promotion On 17 October 2016, the band announced the EP was going to be released on 2 December of that same year, digitally, on CD, and on a limited edition red vinyl. The Last Shadow Puppets
The Last Shadow Puppets are an English supergroup consisting of Alex Turner (Arctic Monkeys), Miles Kane ( the Little Flames, the Rascals), James Ford (Simian, Simian Mobile Disco), and Zach Dawes ( Mini Mansions). The Last Shadow Puppets were formed by co-frontmen, Alex Turner and Miles Kane, in 2007, after they became friends when the Little Flames supported Arctic Monkeys on tour in 2005. They bonded over their shared love of Scott Walker and David Bowie, and decided to write songs inspired by their music. They have released two records, '' The Age of the Understatement'' (2008), and following a lengthy hiatus, '' Everything You've Come to Expect'' (2016). Both of their albums reached number one in the UK charts. Tyler Parkford
Tyler Davis Parkford is an American musician, best known as the keyboardist and vocalist for Los Angeles–based band Mini Mansions. He is also one half of the lounge pop duo Mister Goodnite, and a touring member of the British indie rock band Arctic Monkeys. Early life Parkford grew up in Long Beach, California. He studied classical piano as a child and later learned to play the guitar. He attended film school at the University of California, Santa Cruz. It was there that he met future bandmate Zach Dawes. Zach Dawes
Zachary Edwin Dawes (born July 2, 1985) is an American musician, producer, engineer, and technician, best known as the bassist for the bands Mini Mansions and The Last Shadow Puppets. He has also worked extensively with Brian Wilson, Lana Del Rey, Sharon Van Etten, among other musicians and songwriters. He composes and music supervises for many film and television shows including The Summer I Turned Pretty, The Big Door Prize, and worked with frequent collaborator Este Haim on the hit Netflix show Nobody Wants This. His producing work with Lana Del Rey on Norman Fucking Rockwell and Did You Know That There's a Tunnel Under Ocean Boulevard earned him two Grammy nominations for Album of the Year. James Ellis Ford (born 11 December 1978) is an English record producer and songwriter, known for being a member of Simian Mobile Disco and the Last Shadow Puppets as well as his production work with Arctic Monkeys, Blur, Depeche Mode, Foals, Florence and the Machine, Haim, Gorillaz, Klaxons, Jessie Ware, Kylie Minogue, Declan McKenna, the Pet Shop Boys, Pulp and Geese (band). Craig Scanlon
Craig Antony Scanlon (born 7 December 1960 in Manchester) is an English guitarist, best known as a member of the Fall between 1979 and 1995. During his tenure he was a stalwart member for 17 albums and co-wrote over 120 of the group's songs; singer Mark E. Smith and bass player Steve Hanley excepted, this tally is unmatched by any other musician to have passed through the group. Jacques Lanzmann (4 May 1927 – 21 June 2006) was a French journalist, writer and lyricist. He is best known as a novelist and for his songwriting partnership with Jacques Dutronc. Early life Lanzmann spent the early part of his life in Auvergne. His parents, Paulette (Grobermann) and Armand Lanzmann, divorced shortly before World War II and, at the age of 12, he became a farmhand.
