''The Difference'' is the first full-length release from UK skate punk band Pendleton. It was released on 1 July 2008 by Angry Penguin Records. It followed the band's previously released EP, ''You, by Us''. Pendleton (band)
Pendleton was an English four-piece skate punk band from Manchester, England. They were formed in 2000 and went through several incarnations before becoming Pendleton in 2002 when several of the band members met at the University of Salford. They were signed to Angry Penguin Records in the US, and Bells On Records in Europe and Japan. History ''You, By Us'' Pendleton were formed at the University of Salford in 2002, and spent several years honing their sound and self-releasing their own material. Although previously adherents to the DIY punk ethic Pendleton eventually released their debut EP 'You, by Us' in the UK in August 2006 on (the now defunct) Distort Manchester Records. The release garnered some critical acclaim with punk music website Punktastic.com describing Pendleton as "the best skate punk band in the UK". Brand New (band)
Brand New was an American rock band from Long Island, New York. Formed in 2000, the band consisted of Jesse Lacey (vocals, guitar), Vincent Accardi (guitar, vocals), Garrett Tierney (bass guitar, vocals) and Brian Lane (drums, percussion); they were joined by Benjamin Homola (percussion) for their live performances. From 2005 to 2013, the band also included Derrick Sherman (guitar, backing vocals, keyboards). The band is recognized as one of the most influential within the 2000s emo scene, celebrated for making artistic statements with their music. Bayside is an American punk rock band from the Bayside, Queens neighborhood of New York City, formed in 2000 by lead vocalist Anthony Raneri. The group also consists of lead guitarist Jack O'Shea, bassist Nick Ghanbarian, and drummer Chris Guglielmo. Skate Punk
Skate punk (also known as skatecore and skate rock) is a skater subculture and punk rock subgenre that developed in the 1980s. Originally a form of hardcore punk that had been closely associated with skate culture, skate punk evolved into a more melodic genre of punk rock in the 1990s similar to pop punk. Since then, it has predominately featured fast tempos, lead guitar playing (including guitar riffs and guitar solos), fast drumming, and singing (sometimes including vocal harmonies).
